For a chunk of early faith-based rock listeners, Seventh Day Slumber was a popular group that saw success in the years following the wake of DC Talk’s “Jesus Freak” breakthrough around 1995. Formed in 1996 in Dallas, TX, the group signed with BEC Recordings before releasing Once Upon a Shattered Life, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart in 2005 on the backs of singles “Oceans from the Rain” and “Caroline.”
The band has had nearly a dozen different band members, though, notably vocalist and founding member Joseph Rojas remains a common thread and voice for the band. He now joins The Word Alive with the rest of his bandmates on their latest single, “Death By Admiration.”
The song comes from their upcoming album (appropriately) titled Death By Admiration set to release on Jan. 28. Preorders are available now.
