Post-punk laptop rapper MC LARS will embark on a nationwide trek supporting mc chris with his forthcoming eighth album LARS ATTACKS! in hand (release date: Sept. 6, 2011 on Horris Records). The tour, which kicks off on Sept. 6th in Pittsburgh and concludes in Brooklyn on Oct. 29th also features Mega Ran and Adam WarRock. “I’m incredibly excited to be touring with mc chris again,” beams MC Lars. “He’s one of my favorite people in the indie hip-hop world. I’m honored that he asked me to come out with him again. I know it’s going to be an amazing tour.”
After spending the summer playing the entire Vans Warped Tour, MC Lars will put his arsenal of new songs and experiences toward this tour. “On Warped, I learned about the power of positive thinking and having pride in what I do,” he explains. “I learned how to make myself stand out amongst 60 other bands and how to win over a ‘mainstream’ fan. I can’t wait to take the momentum of this summer and rock it.”

Spiritual in direction and message, Lars Attacks! was written and recorded in Brooklyn, NY. “Lars Attacks! is about attacking the audience with the truth. Every single song on the album is about faith and karma and how that can play out, positively or negatively,” he describes. Co-produced by MC Lars, Mike Sapone (Brand New, Taking Back Sunday), Chris Bittner (Coheed And Cambria, Weerd Science), K. Flay, and Joe Oliger, and mixed by Mike Sapone and Chris Bittner with help from Lars, Lars Attacks! features collaborations with KRS-One, Sage Francis, Weerd Science, Mac Lethal, and John Reuben. “It’s a more serious record and I was able to harness the energy and electricity of being back in New York City for this project- I went back to where hip-hop began. There is nothing really topical or pop culture-related about this album, unlike my previous records, which is why I’m proud of it,” he adds.
A world-renowned post-punk laptop rapper, indie rap entrepreneur, and owner of Horris Records, MC Lars has released eight full-lengths, four EP’s, two DVD’s, two books, and has toured with bands such as Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Gym Class Heroes, Say Anything, Bayside, Simple Plan, Bowling For Soup, Cartel, and many others.
“I’m excited to play jams off of Lars Attacks! because they are harder, more personal, and more lyrically complicated,” he says. “I’ve grown a lot as an MC and a person this album cycle and it’s hella exciting to show the nerdy indie rap kids what I’m up to these days. Lars is attacking America this fall – watch out!!”
LARS ATTACKS! will be released on Sept. 6, 2011 on Horris Records. MC Lars’ mixtape Indie Rocket Science is available FREE at music.mclars.com.
