Impending Doom guitarist Manny Contreras is a man of many talents, and he recently released “The Thoroughfare” under the moniker In the Absence of Fear. It’s a four-minute track from what he calls “sleep music.” It’s a beautiful background listen, and with the combination of the rise in instrumental records and vinyl sales, I’m excited to see how a full-length like this would do, and in the long run, the resurgence of the album as a whole.
