Today, HM is proud to premiere Lift The Curse’s newest single, “House of Horrors,” out everywhere tomorrow, March 20.
Lift the Curse is an American rock duo born from a decade-long collaboration between Texas and California natives — and now best friends — Ryan Hegefeld and Jon Yadon Jr.
The two have built a signature sound driven by explosive alt-rock choruses, heavy riffs, melodic harmonies, and anthemic guitar solos — all delivered with raw energy and emotional weight. The result: a technically astute and unerringly anthemic set of tracks. Their “House of Horrors” fuses a dark atmosphere, dynamic tempo shifts, and crushing metal breakdowns into one of the band’s boldest releases yet.
“‘House Of Horrors’ was inspired by the theatrical darkness of bands like My Chemical Romance and The Funeral Portrait,” says Jon Yadon. “The ‘house’ is a metaphor for a lover who traps you emotionally — once you’re inside, you’re stuck.”
“We start with a big, swing-inspired feel before flipping into a crushing metal breakdown with soaring vocals and a dramatic tempo change in the middle. We even recorded finger snaps to give it that eerie, theatrical pulse. It’s dark, dramatic, and one of the most dynamic songs we’ve written.”
Lift The Curse was born with the release of debut single “Rise With The Flames” in April 2022, but it would be breakout 2023 LP Suffer & Survive that launched the band firmly into the lexicon of rock fans across North America and worldwide.
Earning a reputation as one of the most hard-working bands in rock, Lift The Curse’s perennial conveyor of powerful anthems has seen them unveil four albums in the same number of years, with a fifth on the way later in 2026.
New single, hard rock anthem “House of Horrors” is amongst the band’s most ambitious works to date, a high-octane heavy hitter, that marries the theatrical with the resonating, as Lift The Curse continue to compel.
