Today, HM is proud to premiere Austin alternative/hard rock outfit Lift The Curse’s new single and music video, “Take Me Under.”
Comprised of frontman Jon Yadon Jr. and Ryan Hegefeld, the rising duo finds its roots from former project TrineATX and fuses hard rock tones, filthy breakdowns and veracious melodies in the new iteration of their partnership. Anchored by the longtime friends’ inherent chemistry, the band marries influence from across metal, rock, and pop.
Yadon Jnr shares more about the new release:
“Take Me Under” is a song of change. You are with a person for so long you have that ‘comfortableness’ with them, even if things aren’t good or healthy. Ultimately, moving on is the best thing for both sides. The chorus says it all, ‘Take me under, I can breathe without you. Eyes are covered, I can see the dark in you.'”
Recently, the band released a quickfire string of singles across spring and summer, with the likes of “Burn It All” and “Call It What It Is,” offering a window into a heart of a project that puts songwriting front and center; alternative rock intonations, pummeling riffs and unforgettable melodies all sitting at the core of Lift The Curse’s soundscape.
“Take Me Under” will be available to stream everywhere tomorrow, October 28. If you like what you hear, keep up with Lift The Curse on Facebook or Instagram.
