It was a not-so-quiet Thursday night in downtown Denver, CO at the Fillmore, where thousands of fans came to see two of our favorite and most nostalgic punk rock influences, Simple Plan and Sum 41.
As to be expected — and a testament to their unmatched tenure in the scene — Simple Plan sounded incredible. Singer Pierre Bouvier even made his way to the middle of the insanely large crowd to greet fans and thank them for all the support over the years. One of the most humble bands I’ve had the privilege of knowing and loving, Simple Plan delivered a stellar performance and paved the way for their co-headliners.
Sum 41 brought a different kind of party when they took the stage. The crowd erupted into circle pits and crowd surfing. Fans piled to the front of the sold-out venue to sing along to the classics. After two years without live music, both the bands and the fans couldn’t have been more energized to be there — something none of us will take for granted again.
