Motel 6 and Primary Wave Music, one of the largest music publishing, marketing, branding and talent management companies in the United States, announce the third “Rock Yourself to Sleep” Tour will kick-off on October 13, 2011 with Epitaph Records band ALESANA as the headliner. Similar to the last two years, there is a companion contest leading up to the tour, which gives three up-and-coming bands the opportunity to open for Alesana on this six week national tour, as well as free rooms. Bands can enter the contest on www.RockYourselftoSleep.com with their ReverbNation account.
“Over the past two years, Rock Yourself To Sleep has solidified itself as one of the industry’s premier touring properties. We’re very excited to have the guys from Alesana headline our Fall tour and look forward to another successful run”, states Devin Lasker, Chief Imagination Officer at Primary Wave Music and creator of Rock Yourself To Sleep.
Bands will have until September 25, 2011 to motivate fans to vote for them in head-to-head style competitions. Then, the ten bands with the most votes will have until October 2 to have fans vote for them; three winners will be chosen from the five bands with the most votes by a panel of music industry professionals as well as Alesana and revealed on October 4.
“We are very excited to be headlining this year’s Motel 6 Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour! Our new story releases at the same time which means we will be playing some brand new songs! Come hang out and be the first to see the new music live and in person!” adds Shawn Milke, Lead Singer of Alesana.
Packaged by The Agency Group, one of the world’s foremost entertainment booking agencies, the Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour gives developing bands an opportunity to become a part of a national six week tour without having to worry about the financial restrictions like accommodations; at the same time, this tour also connects national brands with the hard to reach 18 – 24 demographic. Previous contests have garnered over 100 million impressions for Motel 6 and other tour sponsors including Papa John’s and 1800mattress.com. This tour has also given artists a platform to grow their fanbase and help launch their careers like previous headliners of the Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour including EVERY AVENUE and WE CAME AS ROMANS.
“Motel 6 is proud to sponsor the Rock Yourself to Sleep 2011 fall tour,” said Olivier Poirot, CEO of Accor North America, Motel 6 and Studio 6. “We support the dedicated and creative efforts of up-and-coming musicians and look forward to seeing them at Motel 6.”
