Over the past four weeks, The Showdown, Nashville’s finely tuned heavy metal outfit, has brought fans into their home studio – courtesy of a small handheld camera – as they tracked drums, guitars, and bass for their forthcoming full-length record,
Blood In The Gears; now it is time for vocals, the final piece of The Showdown’s well-oiled machine that will be unleashed on August 24
th via Solid State Records. Join vocalist David Bunton in the vocal booth, as he puts it all on the line for tracks such as “Man Named Hell” and “Heavy Lies The Crown”, and even meet the band’s creepy surprise producer who swings in for an unexpected visit! Band friend and Destroy Destroy Destroy vocalist, Chris Bazor, also drops by for a guest vocal appearance on the track, “Graveyard Of Empires”. The fourth and final installment of the video blog series can be seen on The Showdown’s YouTube channel at:

Blood In The Gears was recorded and produced by The Showdown’s own Jeremiah Scott (bass) at his home studio, Anthem Productions, in Nashville. The album was mixed by Steve Blackmon (Living Sacrifice, Project 86), with Troy Glessener at Spectre handling the mastering. Artwork comes courtesy of Ryan Clark at Invisible Creature Inc. Blood In The Gears is The Showdown’s second Solid State release, following 2008’s Back Breaker.

The track list for Blood In The Gears is…
Founded in 2003 by current members, David Bunton and Josh Childers, The Showdown literally came roaring out of the gate with the monstrous, yet spiritually gripping debut, A Chorus of Obliteration, in 2004. With several high profile tours under their belt, including a run on Ozzfest in 2007, and treks with As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Flyleaf, All That Remains, The Cult and more, The Showdown is set to once again crank up the throttle on Blood In The Gears.
