Today, The Devil Wears Prada announced their eighth album, Color Decay. It will arrive on September 16 via Solid State. The band has also shared the video for the new single, “Salt.”
Directed by Christopher Commons and Kate Mcferren at KatDog Studio, the video boasts an abundance of color and light, carrying the same anthemic energy boiling over in the album’s first single.
The band shared more about the new track:
“‘Salt’ is a song about trying to move forward and then feeling like nothing ever changes, even when you’ve seemingly done everything right.”
They continue: “It’s the sort of feeling that makes you question every move you’ve ever made. Initially, the lyrics were just about having trouble writing songs for our new record, but soon, we realized that this feeling of fighting only to be stagnant and held down applies to so much more in our lives. It was really a breakthrough track and allowed us to dive in even deeper into what became Color Decay.”
Color Decay follows the band’s 2019 monumental and career-defining release, The Act, and fans are anxious to hear how TDWP evolves their sound in their next full-length. It will be available everywhere September 16 and is now available for pre-order.
