CONFIRMED FOR APRIL
Paul van Dyk appears on the cover of the April issue of Electronic Musician, on stands now.
For PAUL VAN DYK (PvD)—a Grammy nominee, recipient of many superlative honors and seller of millions of records worldwide—his new album EVOLUTION is a statement of recording on his own terms, simply for the love of meaningful music devised in connection with the global pulse of his international community. Adam Young, the Minneapolis artist best known as Owl City, lends an epic vocal to the album’s first single “Eternity” which has its official release today, Tuesday, March 13. Leading the way is the “Eternity” video which was created, directed and produced by visual artist Anthony Burns; it debuted on MTV this past Friday and is now available at http://bit.ly/ApVagO.
EVOLUTION, due out on PvD’s own VANDIT label April 3 (previously slated for March 20, but moved to accommodate plans for worldwide release), is also an ode to interconnectedness in a fresh and exciting new way. Among its guests are Ummet Ozcan, a Turkish producer from the Netherlands who appears on “Dae Yor”; Sue McLaren, a British folk/dance vocalist who sings on “The Sun After Heartbreak” and “We Come Together” in a tone that PvD says will make “…you want to close your eyes and drift away”; and Italy’s Giuseppe Ottaviani, a trusted longtime collaborator on “A Wonderful Day.” Austin Leeds, a Miami-based DJ/producer who previously collaborated with PvD on “New York City” from his last studio album In Between, joins EVOLUTION for the intense and punchy floor fillers “Symmetries” and “Verano.” Johnny McDaid returns as Fieldwork on “Everywhere,” and Russian DJ/producer Arty joins for “The Ocean” and “The Sun After Heartbreak.”
EVOLUTION is now available for pre-order at www.paulvandyk.com in CD, digital and 180 gram double vinyl formats. A special Deluxe Edition and CD/DVD package are also available.
Prior to the release of EVOLUTION, fans will find PvD in Miami for his annual fete which this year has him teaming with major nightlife brand Pacha at the Ice Palace in downtown Miami Saturday, March 24 as part of Miami Music Week/Winter Music Conference. Tickets are on sale now at http://miami.paulvandyk.com/. Following the album’s release, he’ll return to North America for gigs in Ottawa, Atlantic City, Vancouver, Calgary and San Diego with more dates to be announced soon.
