Living Sacrifice’s New Album Out Now
Metal legends LIVING SACRIFICE are debuting the video for the track “Rules of Engagement” on AOL Noisecreep. The video is the first from the band’s anticipated new album, The Infinite Order, which dropped January 26, 2010 on SolidState Records. he album’s early praise indicates that The Infinite Order has taken shape as one of 2010’s most anticipated metal releases, and illustrates in no uncertain terms why so many of today’s heavy music leaders hold LIVING SACRIFICE and their legacy in such high esteem: “You can hear LIVING SACRIFICE’s legacy in the entire generation of bands who’ve come after them… And those bands still haven’t caught up,” -Tim Lambesis/AS I LAY DYING “LIVING SACRIFICE definitely helped pave the way for our band’s crossover” -Tim McTague/UNDEROATH The Infinite Order defies expectation in more ways than one, starting with the inclusion of a bonus track on the physical copy that wasn’t originally intended for North American consumption – and that won’t be available on iTunes. “The Infinite Order was supposed to have 11 songs on it, but when you get the record, there are 12,” explains LIVING SACRIFICE vocalist and guitarist Bruce Fitzhugh. “The 12th track is called ‘Of My Flesh, Of My Heart’ and is a down-tuned rhythmic rager. This song was slated to be a bonus track on a possible European release. The manufacturer used the wrong master for the pressing, though, and now you have this extra song – which, for fans, is a good thing. Further pressings of the record will not have the extra song, so get this one early and you will have a collectors item.” The band previewed the release of The Infinite Order with an exclusive MySpace stream and an interactive album trailer on YouTube. As of Monday, January 25, the album is available for stream on AOL Music. LIVING SACRIFICE will support The Infinite Order with a February US tour (dates below). There aren’t too many metal lifers out there who AREN’T named SLAYER or METALLICA that are still making ferociously relevant music 20 years into their career. LIVING SACRIFICE are among the few and the proud, and despite the fact that they have inspired a huge portion of today’s young metal bands, they’re still playing like they’ve got something to prove.

Day Of Fire News
Nashville-based rock band DAY OF FIRE will release their third CD LOSING ALL–a powerful hard-rock record that explores the meaning of rebirth–January 26 via Razor And Tie. After four special CD release shows in the Southeast, DAY OF FIRE will join Cold and Nonpoint on the road February 16 for a run of U.S. shows. LOSING ALL’s first single “Lately” is currently at #35 and climbing on R&R’s Active Rock Monitor chart. Drummer Zach Simms, who wrote the chorus during a time of turmoil surrounding the band, reveals that the song is about “letting go of the things that have been clouding your mind.” He continues, “hopefully it will give people a reason to chase their dream that may have been shattered by someone telling them that they could never achieve it.” DAY OF FIRE features Josh Brown (vocals), brothers Joe Pangallo (guitar) and Chris Pangallo (bass), and Zach Simms (drums). Brown grew up in Jackson, Tennessee, where he picked up songwriting and a serious drug habit at age 15. Two years later he became the frontman for Full Devil Jacket, and at 22, scored a major record deal. The band toured with Creed and Nickelback and made a splash at Woodstock ‘99, but on his way to success, Brown had a major crash: a heroin overdose in an Orlando bathroom which put his career on hold while he rehabbed and rethought his life. In a recent feature in Billboard, Brown elaborates: “I was already a drug addict when I got my first record deal, and when someone gave me a pile of money I was like, ‘Man, I’m going to do more drugs than I’ve ever done.’ I did, and that lifestyle was killing me. I just came to the realization after OD’ing a couple of times I needed to change. (January 16, 2010)” After several years out of the spotlight, Brown had a burst of inspiration, re-emerged with a new slate of songs and assembled Day of Fire. The group’s first two albums–Day Of Fire (2004) and Cut & Move (2006)–sold more than 150,000 copies combined. LOSING ALL was recorded in 2009 near the band’s Nashville home base with producer Rogers Masson (Marilyn Manson, Song Of America, The Early Hours). For Day of Fire, LOSING ALL isn’t about despair and endings, but hope and fresh starts. During the two years the band was working on the album, they experienced various personal and professional changes. Brown explains in Billboard: “We changed management. We changed booking agencies. We changed labels. At the time, I was going through a divorce. Me and my wife are back together now, but my life was just turned upside down completely. So that’s what the record is about–pretty much having the rug pulled out from under you. (January 16, 2010)” But even when Day of Fire was at a low point, somebody cut them a break: Chris Daughtry, who had opened for DAY OF FIRE a year before his career-changing stint on American Idol. Daughtry invited Day of Fire on tour and co-wrote three tracks on LOSING ALL, including the chugging, melodic “Hello Heartache,” “When I See You” and “Airplane.” The band held nothing back on LOSING ALL, and everyone drew on intense, raw personal experiences for nearly every track. Super-charged slow roller “Airplane” describes Brown meeting his wife for the first time at a Type O Negative concert and the swirling grind of “Cold Addiction” examines the horrors of being trapped inside cocaine dependency. Ultimately, Day of Fire’s true strength is their sincerity, honesty and ability to connect with audiences on a personal level. ”We all go through dark times, but we can go through them together–that’s what rock & roll is about to us,” Brown says.

TSO: Not Just For Christmas Anymore!
On a late night in the spring of 1827 the city of Vienna is experiencing the largest lightning storm in its long history. Within a large disheveled room, Ludwig Von Beethoven is slumped over his piano and on the piano sits the just completed manuscript for his Tenth Symphony. It is his final, and he is certain, his greatest work. As the clock strikes midnight, Mephistopheles appears to collect the great composer’s soul. Looking into the abyss of eternity Beethoven is horrified but the devil has an offer and the bargaining begins. So begins TSO’s inaugural performance of “Beethoven’s Last Night” in its entirety. TSO will be debuting songs that have never been performed live. Having just been named one of Billboard’s “Top 25 Touring Artists of the Decade” and coming off their massively successful Winter Tour, which played to over 1.2 million fans, TSO is not wasting any time and is gearing back up for the road. Bringing it back to where it all started, TSO is taking this engagement out on a limited 31 city run performing for the first time in years in an intimate theatre setting. The legions who have come to enjoy their symphonic rock take on the classics will be thrilled to hear live this historic fictional tale of Beethoven’s last night on Earth. Combining 50% what happened with 50% of what might have happened, the story revolves around the tough choices the composer has to make with what will be his life’s legacy. Trans-Siberian Orchestra creator, Paul O’Neill, who cites Beethoven as one of his greatest musical influences explains, “Beethoven was the world’s first heavy metal musician. The main theme in Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony could easily have been written by Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath. Later on, I discovered how he overcame the seemingly insurmountable obstacles of deafness, lead poisoning and manic depression to compose some of the most timeless music ever created. The fact that he himself would never be able to hear any of these compositions is in and of itself a mesmerizing story. Weave into that tale such characters as Mozart and the royal family of the Hapsburg Empire, all individuals that Beethoven knew personally, you have the basis of a story with limitless twists and turns. A story as riveting and relevant today as it was when it occurred three centuries ago.” For the second half of the show, TSO will be playing selections from their recently released double album “Night Castle,” featuring the new single, “Believe.” Night Castle bowed at #5 on Billboard’s “Top 200” chart and was certified gold in less than 8 weeks. With “Night Castle” released and the “Beethoven’s Last Night” tour up and running, fans of TSO can expect the band to try and find more ways to push the emotional impact of their recordings and live performances further. O’Neill says “we always try to stay cutting edge and one step ahead of our fans’ expectations, trying to make the impossible possible and the yet unimagined real.”
