The Famine Post Video Blog
North Texas death metal outfit, The Famine, has posted the first video, in a series of behind-the-scenes video blogs, on the Solid State Records Youtube channel, in anticipation of the forthcoming album, The Architects of Guilt. The video was filmed during The Famine’s summer 2010 recording sessions, as the pieces were assembled for what is sure to be one of 2011’s most punishing albums. The Architects of Guilt, The Famine’s sophomore Solid State release, will hit stores on February 15th. It is the follow up to the band’s critically acclaimed debut, The Raven and the Reaping (2008). The forthcoming album can be pre-ordered now through the Solid State Records webstore here, while a CD/t-shirt combo pre-order is available here.

Come&Live’s Year-End Recap
Come&Live reflects on the past year: As we look back on another year, the faithfulness of the Lord’s hand at work, is once again made clear. No arm will ever sustain like His. Several words make obvious the benefits of leaning on the arm of the Almighty: Time. – We’ve learned to count time by the months. God has provided a growing C&L! family with life and sustenance, through a variety of creative provisional means. December marks our 23rd month….and counting.
Risk. – The responsibility of placing faith into action regardless of the potential for failure. The greatest risk is that of disobedience to Christ. He is teaching us to maintain a commitment to Him glorified and the hearts of men drawn to His Father. This has been a hard lesson, especially on those days where financial provision doesn’t seem likely or when the obstacles mount up against us. God has consistently reminded us that He is in control. Debt. – From the very first bank deposit beginning with a humble 340 Dollars, operating a non-profit has been a learning process with a huge, and often times painful, curve. None of us had previous 501(c)(3) experience. God has been incredibly kind to allow all our bills to be paid and to operate entirely in the black. We have never acquired debt, please pray that we never will. Team. – We’ve shared many fond memories over this past year. We can all attest to the ways in which God has grown our faith and matured our spiritual walks. What a joy to experience hundreds, and some-times thousands, entering God’s presence through song. What an honor to have a single coversation, where Christ births abundant life-everlasting in a desperate heart. Generosity. – In 2009 you helped us gift 124,000 songs. We have just surpassed 2 Million Songs delivered as gifts to countries like Singapore, Russia, Chile, Israel, Estonia, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Cyprus, Zimbabwe and 82 others – with our site being visited over 1 Million times. We now gift a daily average of 10,000 songs. To date, we have spent less than $5,000 in marketing efforts. God has used your single voice to reach countless voices. Friends. – You represent some of the new friends we’ve made since trusting God with this dream. Of all the friends we’ve met, one of the sweetest is Maria. She sells the homeless newspaper faithfully near Chad’s home. She is a constant reminder of God’s love for the poor. She brings tears to Chad’s eyes when he considers how a smile, a hug, stopping to remind her that she is loved, or giving her an occassional gift, are all reminders of how we are to live more like Jesus. Gifts. 1 Corinthians 14:1 says; “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” We’re learning to pursue love and the gifts God gives us. We could tell of the many people we’ve seen instantly (and at times gradually) healed, or the joy we feel when encouraging those who are struggling to get through life. We could share of those special encounters birthed only by the Holy Spirit that have resulted in great fruit. Our pursuit is love. His gifts, when Biblically practiced, help us express God’s love to the body and the lost. Salvation. – There is nothing we consider nearly as rewarding as receiving a text, phone call or email from an artist letting us know that someone was once lost but has now been found. To hear someone say, as we have; “I’ve gone to church my whole life but I want to know Jesus the way I hear you talking about Him”, may be the compliment of a life-time. Talking about Christ is wonderful, but even better is to express Jesus by the way we live like Him. God isn’t looking for more talkers, He’s after hearts committed to living for Him! Future. – This is just the beginning and what a great reminder that God knows the plans He has toward us. And towards you. They are plans for peace and not evil. Plans for a future and a hope. Only He is fully aware of what comes next, considering we only know in part. He has swung wide the doors leading to New Zealand, to many wonderful events, and Lord-willing to a National and International Come&Live! tour before 2011 is over. We know that He is drawing our hearts to know Him and His Word, even more than we do now. There are nearly 2 Billion global youth, most of whom have never heard or seen the Gospel. Jesus called us to reach them. Going is not an option, it’s the commandment. Again, thank you for being you and for your obedience in following Jesus. Our prayer for you is that God would allow His Kingdom and His will to be accomplished in every area of your life. That He would provide you with daily bread, with strength to overcome every temptation, forgiveness as you forgive others. Deliverance from the evil one. That the kingdom, power and glory would be radiated from your life and received fully unto Christ.
Desiring to burn brightly,
Team Come&Live!

Newsboys Request Help
Newsboys need your help in their newsletter: As we enjoy the afterglow of Christmas and look to the coming New Year, we wanted to connect with you once more before the year ends . So as you get ready to cook that ham or turkey for New Year’s Day, bake those pies, and contemplate resolutions, please take a moment to read on. As another year ends, and a new one begins, we wanted to wish you the best for Christmas and the year to come. Soon, we will all be gathering with our family and friends to enjoy the holidays, celebrate the birth of the Lord, and look forward to a new year. We are also making Global Tribe plans, most especially for 2011. The work in Mexico is moving forward rapidly. We have use of a temporary location as we look for a permanent solution for an Innovation Center. On site we have a psychologist working with single mothers to assess their real needs so we can let you know. Already we know of 400 single moms and their children in that area alone, living in dire poverty. Last month Global Tribe leaders met with Tecate,(MX) government officials including Primera dama (First Lady): Denisse Vargas and Director General (Head Director): MVZ. Luis Alonso Limon Martines and their staff. They have pledged their support and will provide land for the first Global Tribe Innovation Center. The Innovation Centers are designed to provide a small clinic, an education center, and a micro loan office. Our friends at Conduit Missions are providing 3 computers to get things started. They will arrive in Mexico early January. Conduit works in Jocmel, Haiti with children of single mothers while the mother goes to work for 12 hours earning just $1 a day. Global Tribe is partnering with them to help single mothers there as well. By rescuing a single mother we rescue all of her children too. We also just helped build a boys dorm at Children’s Miracle Ranch in Mexico. The Director, Cesar Uribe, is us oversee the Innovation Center there, and is an innovator himself. Cesar helps fund the orphanage through the 5,000 tree olive orchard he planted.
What I want to point out is the obvious. What you see is the collaboration of partners, each person or organization bringing their own specialty, meeting the needs of the extremely poor. Building sustainability for these dear single mothers and their precious children relies on partnerships. Like a puzzle, we each complete the picture. Meeting with single mothers in Tecate, seeing a glimmer of hope as we talked about bringing the Innovation Center there, was an early Christmas. Now, we must deliver, bring the opportunity to escape poverty, the hope of dignity. As the year ends, and you consider where you might want to make an impact, please consider Global Tribe. Every donation makes the work in Tecate Mexico, Haiti and Africa possible, and provides the ability to impact and redirect the lives of poor single mothers. Your donation of $1 a day, or any size, brings much needed aid to these ladies struggling for their family with emergency relief, education in vocational and life skills, and enterprise development helping them become sustainable in their trade. Rather than welfare, which enslaves, together we provide opportunity for a future for the mothers and their children too.

Gibson Guitars Request An Injunction
Gibson Guitar Corp. was granted a request for an injunction against WOWWEE USA Inc, the makers of Paper Jamz, and its retailers, which include Wal-Mart, Amazon.com, Big Lots Stores, K Mart Corporation, Target Corporation, Toys “R” Us- Delaware Inc, Walgreen Co., Brookstone Company, Best Buy Co. Inc, eBay Inc, Toywiz Inc and HSN Inc. The initial complaint, filed by Gibson Guitar Corp. on November 18, 2010, stated that the WOWWEE USA Inc produced Paper Jamz products wrongfully copy Gibson’s famous guitars, the LES PAUL®, FLYING V®, EXPLORER® and SG®. Gibson states that they intend to remain aggressive in protecting such trademarks, as it relates to its guitar shapes and designs and that it is of the highest priority to protect a consumer’s right to purchase an authentic Gibson guitar, regardless of the form. The granted injunction indicates that Gibson Guitar Corp. would be irreparably harmed by the continued sale of the products and requires retailers to remove all included Paper Jamz models from their shelves immediately. Gibson Guitar Corporation, founded in 1994 and Incorporated in 1902, is headquartered in Nashville, TN. It is the leading maker of acoustic and electric guitars.
Family Friendly TV Movie Coming In January
Family friendly entertainment is at an all time low on primetime television and Procter & Gamble and Walmart have come together to provide safe entertainment through their Family Movie Nights. Many of the films have strong faith based elements and we need support from viewers to keep Family Movie Night alive. Parents are yearning for quality entertainment and Family Movie Night is committed to bringing more films to primetime TV throughout 2011. The last title released by Family Movie Night was A Walk In My Shoes which premiered on Dec. 3rd and garnered nearly 5M viewers. The film rated as the #2 watched program for the night and became the highest rated NBC show in nearly 2 months. So save the $12 you would have spent on a movie ticket and sit down with your family to watch “Change of Plans” on Saturday, January 8th. Please let us know if you can cover this story and spread the word so that we can bring back quality television to primetime!
