As I Lay Dying Premiere New Video
On December 17, 2010, Grammy®-nominated metal group AS I LAY DYING shot a new music video for the track Anodyne Sea off the band’s latest album The Powerless Rise. Directed by McFarland and Pecci of Killswitch Productions and shot in the band’s hometown of San Diego, California, Anodyne Sea was shot from the POV perspective of drummer Jordan Mancino. The video tackles the issue of free speech and the worst case scenario of what could happen when you stand up for what you believe in regardless of the consequences. Check out the premier of Anodyne Sea exclusively on CraveOnline.com HERE. AS I LAY DYING frontman Tim Lambesis comments on the video and working with the directing duo; “Ian and Mike have a passion for their art and they brought us an incredible treatment. Conceptually, I enjoyed making a video that is outside the box and with a style that is incredibly unique. I’m proud of the outcome and can’t wait for our fans to see it!” Technology played a crucial role in McFarland & Pecci achieving their vision. The video is shot using a custom designed helmet-cam rig with a Nikon D7000 HD-SLR camera and Teradek Cube for wireless video monitoring, both being cutting-edge video products. AS I LAY DYING’s Anodyne Sea marks the first ever music video to use this revolutionary technology, which is sure to start popping up in future music videos from artists spanning all musical genres. Music video directors Ian McFarland & Mike Pecci have built a reputation for using the cinematic arts and sciences to translate the darkest moments of humanity into a visual experience. Their style is gritty, raw, sometimes controversial, and always compelling. “We collaborated closely with the band on this video to create a raw, intense look at the potential consequences for standing up for what you believe in. It is astounding to think about how many people are blind to the fact that violence is used every day to control public and personal opinion. AS I LAY DYING is to be commended for having the balls to create a video where they step outside their comfort zone and make such a relevant clip for our times” commented the directors. Released earlier this year, The Powerless Rise debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #10 and marks yet another major feat for the metal band that refuses to compromise their sound to conform to the mainstream as they continue to deliver heavy and melodic music to their fans around the world. On Tuesday, November 9, AS I LAY DYING released a Limited Edition Super Deluxe Fan Box set that includes The Powerless Rise CD and 12? vinyl picture disc, The Powerless Rise DVD documentary w/in studio footage and interviews + extras: guitar, bass, and drum tabs featuring Jordan Mancino, Nick Hipa, Phil Sgrosso and Josh Gilbert, song stems for “Upside Down Kingdom,” expanded recording outtakes, a hardcover book w/ lyrics, photos and editorial from the band, 12? X 12? lithograph, 3 guitar picks, mini drumstick keychain, As I Lay Dying patch, As I Lay Dying window cling and metal As I Lay Dying logo pin.

Figure Four To Reunite For Show In May
Blood & Ink Records is extremely pleased to announce we have started working on a vinyl pressing of Figure Four’s seminal hardcore album Suffering The Loss! Details are still coming together, but we plan to have the LP out in time for their planned reunion at Rain Fest 2011 in May, if not earlier. That’s right! They’ve announced plans to play Rain Fest in Seattle the last weekend of May alongside Trial, Madball, Most Precious Blood, and many more awesome bands! For those unfamiliar with Figure Four, the band still stand as one of the heaviest hardcore bands to ever come out of the Spirit-filled scene. Featuring members who would later form such fan favorites as Comeback Kid and Grave Maker, Figure Four were distinctly treading their own path with previous releases on Facedown Records and Solid State Records.

Bradley Hathaway Releases B-Side
Everyone’s favorite poet turned folk singer/songwriter Bradley Hathaway has released a rarity track entitled “A STORM COMING” left off his summer EP A Thousand Angry Panthers. The song contains Hathaway’s usual charm and twang with just a touch of the intensity we saw on Panthers, although it is clear why it did not fit in the dark gloomy mood of the EP. Hathaway explains the heart behind the track here. “Lyrically the song is about two friends that have reached a place in their lives where they can no longer be friends or be in one another’s lives. Something has happened to them and the only way for them to carry on is by being apart. This grieves the friend that I’ve given voice to and it’s clear the love he has for his friend, but he has to let him go. This one is a bit unique from my usual art.” A concept that all of us have dealt with in life at one time or another, Hathaway continues to produce words and melodies that tug at the heart strings. Though the songwriter claims that this isn’t necessarily a direction he sees to be more abundant in the future, he makes no promises. “It’s just a song that stands on its own. I’ve not written another song like it since.” One thing that we can all appreciate about Bradley Hathaway is that he always keeps us guessing.
Los Lonely Boys To Release New Album
From the stage at Cornerstone Festival to the studio: A word coined by the band, Rockpango translates more or less to “rock party,” and that’s exactly what the 11-track collection is. The album stands as the most personal work yet by the Grammy-winning Garza brothers–Henry, Ringo, and Jojo–who wrote, recorded and produced it themselves. Rockpango, which will also be available in a Deluxe Edition featuring three bonus songs, behind the scenes video, and a fold-out poster of the cover art, marks the first full-length studio release of original material on the band’s own LonelyTone imprint for Playing in Traffic Records. Engineered and mixed by Steve Chadie (Wilco, Sublime), Rockpango follows 2010’s critically acclaimed Keep on Giving: Acoustic Live! which captured collaborations with fellow Texans Ale1/dro Escovedo & Carrie Rodriguez and other inspired moments from the multi-platinum band’s Acoustic Brotherhood Tour. All Music Guide praised the album’s “seamless three part harmonies” and “blazing guitar/bass interplay,” while Vintage Guitar raved that Henry’s work earned him a spot amongst “the top guitarists of his generation.” Since their breakout 2004 self-titled album, which went twice platinum and garnered a Best Pop Performance Grammy for the No 1 hit single “Heaven,” Los Lonely Boys have toured all over the world, performing roughly 200 shows to more than 350,000 fans in 2009-10 alone. Their last studio album, 2008’s ‘Forgiven,’ earned the band even more critical favor, with the LA Times extolling that it “oozes bone-deep feeling throughout.” The band recently performed at the March for Immigration Reform on the National Mall in Washington before an audience of 90,000.
New Ain’t No Grave Recordings Label Launches
ANGR is dedicated to working alongside the most engaging spirit-filled bands from deep within the heavy music underground whose ambitions reach beyond simple scenes. A collection of individuals with diverse approaches and points of view but a shared overall vision. The bands who are associated with ANGR place a high value on the words within their music, their interaction with their audiences and their impact upon the world from an artistic and philosophic standpoint. Not every band evangelizes, but none will compromise the heart of what they’re doing. ENTURY MEDIA RECORDS has been known for 20 years as one of the most innovative and ground breaking indie music labels in the world. Long has the label pushed forth and developed some of the leading metal and hard rock bands no matter the genre tag applied, 2011 sees this grow one step further with their new partnership alongside the ANGR brand. ANGR was developed by Ryan Downey a Ryan “The Dog” Nelson, both music veterans whose experiences stretch across media, management, merchandising and touring. ANGR will not only develop talent but also actively publicize charitable causes worthy of support. AIN’T NO GRAVE RECORDINGS and CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS are excited to welcome their first two signings to the new label: SLEEPING GIANT and THE GREAT COMMISSION. SLEEPING GIANT represent a great and terrible day when all living things return to dust; and their sound is as formidable as one might expect the apocalypse should be. The band has toured as part of the “Scream the Prayer Tour” as well as stints with Demon Hunter, Winds of Plague, Stick to Your Guns and more proving that they are at the forefront of the hardcore scene. THE GREAT COMMISSION prides themselves on being one of the heaviest live acts around, playing live with six members, three of which are guitarists and have drawn comparisons to everyone from Hatebreed to Impending Doom. The band has toured relentlessly including stints with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, For Today, Impending Doom, Demon Hunter, Throwdown, We Came As Romans, Oceano and more. Both bands are hard at work on their initial offerings for ANGR which are expected to surface later in 2011. “Ain’t No Grave (Can Hold This Body Down)” is an old traditional country standard, most recently popularized by Johnny Cash. The spirit within the song’s lyrics and the life of truth-seeking, honesty, worship and rebelliousness against convention led by artists like Cash and other giants in the contemporary artistic world is at the heart of what ANGR looks to accomplish. Stay tuned for more news on the label, Sleeping Giant and The Great Commission.

The Undivided To Film New Music Video
The band The Undivided, a local Christian rock band will be filming a music video for their song titled “Change” in downtown Columbia this weekend. The band will be filming with Fisher Films Production Company where they’ve planned to shoot in various locations downtown Columbia, and also in Yemassee, SC, the town known for where movie Forest Gump was also filmed. The large cast is going to include along with Tony Byroads and his band members, Michael Bingham, a pastor from Pond Branch United Methodist church, an interpretive dance team called BOLD (which stands for Believe Our Lord Delivers) from Aiken, SC. Johnny Horshack, the radio DJ from Columbia’s WARQ Rock 93.5 and youth from the Gilbert, SC High School.
The Undivided was formed Tony Byroads, former vocalist and dj of rock band Crossfade who also are from Columbia. Tony has previously publicly stated that he left Crossfade because of a Christian tour bus driver that gave him a strong message about some things happening while on their tour and also in turn led him to rededicating himself to his walk with Christ. Tony formed the Undivided in 2009 and has been writing, recording and playing large Christian festivals as well as the local clubs and churches and many charity events. The long awaited album for The Undivided titled “Change” is finally scheduled for release independently beginning of March. The song “Change” has already been playing on WARQ’s rock 93.5. The radio station has already spun 3 of their songs, tracks titled “This Fire Burns”, “The Game” and now “Change”. Tony hopes the video for Change will do well with promotion of the album as well as send a message. Like the lyrics of his songs, the video could make you think about things in a few different ways, it will even have a twist ending. The band and links to their online social sites as well as an I–Tunes store that has the song “Change”, can be found on their new website here.
