Bremerton, WA-based pop-punk trio MXPX release their music video for “Far Away” today, Tuesday, February 28, on their official website (www.mxpx.com), starting at 9 a.m. PST/12 p.m. EST. The track is the first single off their highly anticipated album PLANS WITHIN PLANS, available April 3 via MRI/Rock City Recording Company (U.S./Canada).
The single “Far Away,” which will be serviced to radio this week, is described by frontman Mike Herrera, “As crazy as it sounds, this song is about fighting for your hopes and a better way of life. So much has happened to me over the last two years I could write a whole album about it, maybe two. But this was written as a picture of my experiences. Heavy but hopeful.”
For fans that purchased MXPX‘s new documentary, BOTH ENDS BURNING, released in December 2011, the band played the track during the end credits of the DVD. The video was directed by Bryan Buchelt of Snaproll Studios and shot during band practice in Bremerton at Herrera’s Monkey Trench Studios.
Nearly five years since the release of their last album, MXPX is ready to continue their success with the release of PLANS WITHIN PLANS. In addition to U.S./Canada distribution through MRI/Rock City Recording Company, the album will also be available in Japan (Bullion Records), Europe/U.K. (Flix Records) and Australia/New Zealand (El Shaddai Records). New pre-order bundles of the album, LP and newly designed t-shirt are available on the band’s website as well.
MXPX is Mike Herrera (bass/vocals), Tom Wisniewski (guitars) and Yuri Ruley (drums). In the span of 19 years, the band has sold over 2.5 million records worldwide. Their music has been known for its ability to unite formerly distinguished fan bases such as the skate/surf community and the punk underground for almost two decades.
