Today, Facedown Records announced another addition to their roster — Meadows. Hailing from Birmingham, AL, the 5-piece infuse their foundation of melodic rock with classic hardcore influence and atmospheric guitars, creating an emotional and immersive blend of modern hardcore.
We spoke with vocalist Christian Nielsen about the band’s next chapter:
“We are overly joyed to be signing with Facedown. It’s wild to see how everything that we’ve gone through has brought us to this point. Each of us has been following Facedown for several years, and at any point would have said that this is ideally where we want to be.”
Meadows also released their first single via Facedown Records, “The Depths,” which is the first track off a 3-song collection that will be released over the next few months. The EP, titled In Those Days & Also After Part III, will be released on August 20.
“Having finally reached Part III of our concept EP’s story, the feeling is really bittersweet,” Nielsen added. “The project means a lot to me personally, and as a whole, it has been one that has pushed us to collectively examine everything closer than before, whether it’s a lyrical callback, or a certain guitar tone, or even a color choice with the artwork, everything was done with purpose. Our hope is that someone will pick up where we are, and look to the project as a whole for the full picture. Overall, we couldn’t be any more excited about where we are, and where we are headed.”
Meadows is slated to play at Furnace Fest 2021 this September. If you dig the band, check them out on Facebook and Instagram.
