The fifth new full-length recording from Jesus Culture, Come Away, releases on Kingsway today as a special CD/DVD Digipak combo. Recorded live at the Jesus Culture Encounter Conference in Redding, CA earlier this year in front of a full house of passionate youth and young adults, this album is gathering widespread acclaim and sparked upcoming Jesus Culture features in RELEVANT and CCM magazines.
Featuring the songs and vocal talents of Jesus Culture worship leaders Chris Quilala, Kim Walker-Smith and the full Jesus Culture band, the Come Away CD and DVD both contain 10 tracks. The DVD, which was recorded in High Definition with 5.1 audio, also features additional content and extended versions of select songs. The album was mixed by Sam Gibson (Delirious?, Pearl Jam, Crowded House) with audio production by Jeremy Edwards (The Myriad) and video direction by Nathan Grubbs.

Here is what the media critics are saying about the resulting album:
“The mix is terrific, and the six-piece band—fronted by lead singers Kim Walker-Smith and Chris Quilala—sounds lean and tight throughout. Walker-Smith and Quilala attack these songs with a ferocity and passion which is engrossing. The arrangements are stellar…[Jesus Culture] still possess the rare ability to create an atmosphere that is simultaneously anthemic and intimate, public and private. Were this album to wind up in the hands of a stranger with no knowledge of the church or the conventions or worship music, it would demand respect for its passionate performances and technical prowess.” – Crosswalk.com
“It’s clear that Come Away has not been produced for the sake of releasing another album. It seems to capture the revival heart of Jesus Culture, and it’s pretty clear that it’s not about the music but all about worship. It’s a snapshot of earnest, soul-driven worship that invites you to partake in a personal encounter with the all-powerful God.” – Salvation Army (www.salvos.org.au)
“Come Away is not just another worship album; it is an experience that beckons you to engage. It’s a continuous flow of powerful worship that draws you to a fresh new encounter with God.” –All About Worship
“This is one of those albums that is more worth sitting in your living room, doing nothing but simply listening. And loud. Seriously – turn it up and enjoy…go get the album. You will not be disappointed.” – Soul-Audio.com
“It’s like nothing I have ever heard…it is truly breath taking…Jesus Culture brings a fresh, raw, and intimate passion for Jesus in their new Come Away album that is sure to have hearts crying out for more of Jesus!” – The Worship Community
“Jesus Culture Come Away is quite possibly one of the best worship albums of 2010. Not only is this a great worship CD, but the musicianship is excellent and the songs truly speak to the heart and soul…” – Colossal Pop
“Their music is fresh, anointed and full of passion toward God…Come Away was recorded live at the Jesus Culture Encounter Conference in Redding, CA earlier this year, but one does not have to be present at a live venue to feel the presence of God. The anointing comes through in each and every track…The more I listen to Come Away the more I like it, and you will too!” – Citizen USA
“If you need encouragement or your kids do or you know someone who does, please check out this album…” – FamilyFirst.net
“Jesus Culture is… an amazing, organic spirit flowing band…It seems the band totally expressed their freedom to take the songs wherever they wanted in that moment…And I like it. It’s a like a portable worship experience.” – The Joint Review
Known as one of the most influential youth movements around the world, Jesus Culture has ignited a generation with energetic, passionate and authentic worship music. “Our prayer is that this album will be more than just another release from the Jesus Culture Band, but it will release a sound that will capture the hearts of a generation who are looking for something more,” said Banning Liebscher, Jesus Culture director.
Selling hundreds of thousands of albums and CD/DVD combinations to primarily an international audience through online outlets and at events, Kingsway first brought catalogue Jesus Culture Music to physical retail earlier this year throughout the USA into both Christian and general market stores with distribution by EMI CMG. Come Away will be the first new Jesus Culture recording to go simultaneously to both physical and digital retailers.
