Today, HM is proud to premiere the lyric video for Honoré’s latest single, “Watching the Earth Breathe,” off the band’s upcoming album, The Human Experience. With its experimental arrangement, extreme musical range, and explosive energy, the single balances rhythms and textures that are both rooted in hardcore and infused with alternative metal.
We spoke with vocalist Craig Shumway about the track:
“It forces the listener to confront and explore their own mortality. Lyrically, the song is poised to jolt its listeners awake to the notion of flying along and atop the metaphorical tracks of time toward one of the only real certainties in the human experience – death. This truth is foundational to the song, but Lane and I really wanted to click-out into a widened and multi-faceted perspective and give the listener maybe a different way of observing it.”
Since their start in 2018, the Memphis-based six piece has pushed the boundaries of genre and content with creativity and fervor, and their latest single is no exception. “Watching the Earth Breathe” is the second single off Honoré’s upcoming LP, set to release later this summer.
