Today, HM is proud to premiere “Digital Dead,” the latest single and music video from Ontario metalcore outfit Dead Days. In their latest release, the heavy hitters take aim at the decline in human interaction and over-reliance on technology. The song is a perfect blend of tight riffs and a big chorus, painting a diverse sonic landscape occupied by a message that’s never been so relevant.
We spoke with vocalist Don Tuer about the song:
“I’m old enough to remember a time before cell phones and a day-to-day life plagued by dial-up internet. Between the stubbornness of old age and seeing the decline of human interaction, I can’t get behind all of our modern amenities. ‘Digital Dead’ is about exactly that — the death of the handshake and the rise of the fist bump emoji. Kids today don’t stand a chance. We verbally attack one another with the thought that we won’t receive any of the fallout. If people have that mindset, we’ve already lost everything”
“Digital Dead” is part of the band’s expansive run of 2021 singles, along with “Doom & Gloom,” “Brightburn,” and “Holy Water.” If you like what you hear, follow Dead Days on Facebook and Instagram.
