The Kiss of Death tour made its stop to Irving Texas on August 14 this summer. With four bands on the bill, everyone who piled into the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory knew they were in for an unforgettable night of octane energy and fun.
Tx2 was the opener, and despite being a fairly new artist, he made an impression and defined himself as someone not to miss. He brought so much energy from the moment he stepped out on stage and set the tone for the rest of the night—clearly indicating that this tour isn’t just a concert, it’s an immersive experience.
Next in the lineup was Avatar, all the way from Sweden. The crowd’s enthusiasm for their music could have only signaled to them that their long trip was worth it. They brought even more energy and theatrics to the stage, fusing heavy riffs with dark humor, which made their set stand out from the rest.
Then came time for the co-headliners. In this Moment has well established their taste for theatrics over the years, and their performance tonight was no exception. Their stage consisted of dark, moody, and haunting visuals that both complemented and enhanced the sonic experience. Each song they performed was delivered with the dramatic flair fans have come to expect, unique in its own way, yet satisfyingly familiar and ultimately, memorable.
Ice Nine Kills has also established a brand for themselves in the scene—mostly defined by their horror-themed songwriting. With every performance, they bring horror to life with lead vocalist Spencer Charnas interacting with props, enhancing the narrative of each song. They sang a lot of fan favorites, including “Stabbing in the Dark,” “Hip to be Scared,” and “Welcome to
Horrorwood.” Fans couldn’t be happier with their set, along with the rest of the theatrics we saw and heard together. The Kiss of Death tour left nothing short of an unforgettable taste of what music can be—an experience forged in our memories forever.
