Connecticut metalcore outfit Currents has shared the new video for “So Alone,” off their upcoming album, The Death We Seek.
“‘So Alone’ explores isolation, whether self-induced or through outside factors,” says singer Brian Wille.
“It expresses the pain of not being able to relate to those we love or to even be in their presence, and bemoans that separation in whatever form it takes. It also touches on the cyclical nature of our ups and downs, in the sense that we can feel we’ve made the same choices that lead us to the same places over and over again, despite how much we wish to have a different outcome.”
Heady and ferocious, The Death We Seek is Currents at both their most powerful and most vulnerable. The band plays an overwhelming and jaw-dropping mixture of metallic hardcore, aggressive melody, and electronic texture. Ryan Leitru (For Today, Like Moths To Flames, WCAR) and the band’s own Chris Wiseman co-produced the album, with Wiseman engineering Brian Wille’s vocals himself for the first time. Jeff Dunne (Wage War, Ice Nine Kills, Make Them Suffer) took on the mixing duties for the release.
The Death We Seek arrives May 5 via SharpTone and is now available for pre-order.
Currents will also embark on a headline run this spring. The Death We Seek Tour kicks off on May 11 in Worcester and runs through June 9 in Philadelphia. Like Moths to Flames, Invent Animate, Unity TX, and Foreign Hands will also appear on select dates. Tickets and VIP packages are on sale now.
