“From start to finish, Leveler is exhilarating… the quintet’s strongest work to date. (4/5)” -ALTERNATIVE PRESS
June 13, 2011 – With little more than a week to go until the anxiously awaited release of AUGUST BURNS RED’s Leveler, the band continue to tease fans by streaming yet another new track, entitled ‘Poor Millionaire’.
While the early buzz has been on the band’s introduction of new elements and expansion of their experimentation, ‘Poor Millionaire’ is a song that will appeal to both old and new fans alike.
Guitarist JB Brubaker explains: “While pushing the boundaries of ABR was important when writing Leveler, it was equally important us to not abandon what we as a band and what the fans think of as the ‘core ABR sound’ and that’s why songs like ‘Poor Millionaire’ are just as important to the album as more experimental tracks like ‘Internal Cannon'”
The track is debuting exclusively on the band’s website, and can be streamed here:

To say that Leveler is anticipated may just be an understatement as the three tracks the band has revealed in recent weeks have accumulated nearly half a million plays across various platforms – a testament to the scope of the band’s rabid fanbase and their willingness to grow with the band.
“The biggest risk we took on this album was not limiting ourselves to stay inside the standard metalcore box,” explains Brubaker. “If there was a part that didn’t sound like a traditional metalcore part we ran with it and made it as wild or unorthodox as we wanted. I think that’s one of the advantages to being on your fourth album. We have a dedicated group of listeners who are supportive of us trying new things and breaking some of the unwritten rules of metal. It’s a luxury we are very thankful for and do not take for granted.”
A number of pre-order bundles are available now for Leveler in a variety of packages including the special edition and vinyl packages. Fans can choose bundles which include extras from a pre-order exclusive t-shirt to AUGUST BURNS RED baseball cards.

AUGUST BURNS RED will take to the road as a mainstage act on this summer’s Van’s Warped Tour, which will deliver them to almost every major market in North America to bring Leveler‘s sonic spectacle directly to fans.
For Leveler, AUGUST BURNS RED re-teamed with super producer Jason Suecof, the man behind the boards on their 2009 breakout, Constellations, which landed at #24 on the Billboard Top 200 and has sold more than 95,000 copies. The result is an album that pushes the band’s sonic boundaries in every direction, yet emerges as an unquestionably heavier album than its predecessor. It’s a game-changer, for ABR, and for fans of hard rock everywhere.
