HM PREMIERE: xDEFIANTx drops ‘Letting Go’ from debut, ‘Fourth Plague,’ PLUS free download

Happy Fourth of July! What better way to celebrate than with some musical fireworks? (See what I did there?) Today, HM is premiering “Letting Go,” the first single from xDEFIANTx. The Los Angeles-based band is offering the song up as a free download, so if you dig the stream, download it and share it!

Vocalist Timothy Gomez spoke with HM about the song:

“‘Letting Go’ is the first single off of our debut record, ‘Fourth Plague.’ Musically, this song reflects where xDEFIANTx is as a band. We’ve tried our best to blend the traditional and heavier elements of hardcore with fast beats and heavy breakdowns. Lyrically, this song covers our struggle, as humanity, to let go of the burdens this life throws at us. Happiness and freedom from bondage only comes when we, as a people, realize that in order to be free, we must let go. We hope this song moves you.”

The song comes from their debut full-length release, Fourth Plague, a release from OnTheAttack Records and will be available on July 28. (Preorders are available.) Fourth Plague was recorded at The Legacy Rooms in Los Angeles, with mixing and mastering by Jon Lundin.

The band is currently on The Surge Tour with Raw Dog and Impale Thy Neighbor. You can follow their antics on Instagram and Facebook.
