Hello my friends and thanx VERY much for your prayers! They have meant more than words can say…
This year ca 80 000 metalheads were gathered at Wacken Open Air, the biggest metal festival in the world!! The festival takes place at a small town called Wacken in northern Germany.
We were ca 30 Christians involved in the outreach hailing from Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands and Switzerland.
We were stationed in both the market place (Metal Community/Metal Sanctuary/White Metal Shop), in the festival area (Street Church). We also had some mobile metal bible teams as well as a bus offering coffee and prayer to anyone interested. At all these places Metal Bibles were given for free for anyone interested. We just put up signs offering Metal Bibles for free and then the interested came and picked their copies.
As always we started each morning with prayer and worship at our base camp located ca 15 minutes from the festival area.
As always Metal Bibles were spread to anyone interested. We put up signs saying “feel free to take a Metal Bible” and then the interested came forward and took a copy of it. Something really cool was to see how thankful so many were that they could get the Metal Bible for free. It felt really good to show them God’s love by giving it away for free.
At the center of the festival area, we had a tent with tables where we had signs offering Metal Bibles for free. Many came to us and took a copy of the Metal Bible. We also put out signs with the text “if you want to we can pray and bless you”.
Of course we also felt resistance during the outreach. Satan wasn’t happy that we were there. But God protected us from all evil, so they couldn’t do anything against us. The satanic bands Ghost, Mayhem and Morbid Angel also played this year. We prayed and bound the demonic forces (that followed these bands) in the mighty name of Jesus. When Ghost played a heavy rain fell and most of their audience left. Morbid Angel also did a really bad performance while the Christian Metalcore band As I Lay Dying totally blew people away. When it comes to Mayhem there was indeed an evil presence while they were playing but still there was no real power in it and God really showed that He is the one truly rules.
At the festival there were also lots of occult garbage. Even saw voodoo dolls and a satanic bible in the booths around us! Interesting was also that the satanic bible costed €665 while we were offering Metal Bibles for free.
Overall we had lots of great talks about Christ with people that came to us and wanted to talk. Of course there were also some people that just wanted to discuss, but most of the people that came to us had an open mind and they were really thankful for the free Metal Bibles.
Some really cool things happened. On Monday, a few days before the festival actually started we began the outreach at the mainroad near the festival area. A car came driving by at normal speed, but when the driver saw that people were getting Metal Bibles he just pulled the brakes heavily, stopped and said that he really wanted a Metal Bible, which he of course got.
But the highlight of the day was when we just were about to stop the outreach for the day. Then we met some dudes that were really opened to Christ. One of them was even so open that he wanted to receive Christ right away, so we got the opportunity to lead him to Christ! Amen, it was really fantastic and it happened already the first night of the outreach!
Another cool thing is the great contact we have got with the organizers. They wanted 1000 Metal Bibles for the festival. In return they offered us a 6 meter place for the Metal Bibles at the main festival area! Only GOD can open up doors like this.
For the outreach we had 10 000 German Metal Bibles as well as 1000 English Metal Bibles. The interest was however so big so we run out of all the Bibles and quickly had to get 1000 more. These also went out. Which means that ca 12 000 Metal Bibles went out at Wacken!! Amen. All glory to God! The best thing however that happened was that several persons also found Christ at the festival!!
Please keep all the the people that received metal bibles and that we ministered to in prayer, that God will urge them to read it especially during the next following days and that God will speak prophetically into their lives through the bibles and that they will find Christ through it. Pray especially also for those that have found Christ through the outreach. Pray that they will stay saved and grow strong in Christ.
Besides spreading bibles I was also selling Christian metal merchandise in my Metal Community booth during the festival. My colleague Henrik from White Metal Shop that shared the booth was also selling cool belts, jewellery and rings with crosses. By standing there and selling Christian Metal many misconceptions about Christian Metal were broken. Pray that God will continue to speak to them through the Christian Metal merchandise they bought and continue His work in them and that the things they bought will be tools to help many to Christ.
And the coolest thing of all is also that this is just the beginning! The outreach at Wacken is only the start of what God will do in the Metal world worldwide through the Metal Bibles. The best is yet to come! GOD is definately rocking the Metal world now for His kingdom and I’m sure 1000s of metalheads will found Christ as a result the coming years.
I really want to thank GOD for all He did during this metal bible outreach! God is so awesome and He is really the one that has made this metal bible outreach so successful. I’m glad to have the privilege to be His servant. To GOD be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

When rock emerged from blues and 'heavy metal' began to surface, faith-based metal acts also rose to start their own journeys. Initially shunned by both believers and non-believers, they were fighting for their spot at the table, ultimately building a legacy that would go on to change the genre forever.
