On what would otherwise be an average Saturday night here in the small town of Colorado Springs, the music scene sold out Sunshine Studios Live to get rocked by Blind Channel, Norma Jean, Bad Wolves, and the legendary P.O.D.
Overseas openers Blind Channel worked up the crowd with their full-throttle energy and eagerness to show that they have what it takes to share the stage with the legends that would follow, and they did not disappoint. With their skills and presence, it’s clear they’ve been working hard this year and made quite a few more fans in Colorado.
Norma Jean needed no introduction. The screaming fans couldn’t be silenced as they blew us away with their performance—a talent we’ve all come to know and expect from The Almighty.
They left the crowd buzzing and prepped for the last band before the headliner, none other than Bad Wolves. A pure rock force, they kept the audience hyped with their catchy hits and of course their classic “Zombie” cover from 2018. While it was clear a lot of the audience came to see them, the night’s cohesive lineup and undeniable talent ensured everyone stayed until the very last song of the night.
Last, but not least, were the boys in P.O.D. They took the stage around 10:00 p.m. and played for what felt like hours, leaving the crowd still begging for more. Their set kicked off with a personal favorite, “Boom,” and kept the crowd banging their heads and keeping their horns up high in the air. The band gave their fans everything they could have wanted, from old classics like “Youth of the Nation,” to new releases, to deep cuts for the truest fans.
