It’s a Friday night in Denver, CO, where night one of two begins the loud kick-off for the second leg of I Prevail’s True Power Tour. The 2-day sold-out shows are held at the Fillmore, where thousands of fans have lined up to ensure they could get as close to the front as possible.
Promptly at 6:30 pm, openers Stand Atlantic take the stage to warm us up and blow our minds. A personal favorite, they’ve mastered the modern punk vibe with lyrics that cut through, straight from the record to the room. They leave fans excited for their next release, and of course, to see them on their next tour.
Next up is Fit for a King, who don’t really need an introduction. The crowd knows all of their songs, evident by singing and moshing laced with a distinct pride to be their fans. These guys heighten the energy for the next band to take the stage.
To be honest, I believe most of the crowd tonight came for the third band of the night, Pierce the Veil. These guys have not toured in over 5 years and their fans have missed them. They have a big growth on the social media, and it was about damn time that we saw them play. They put on one hell of a set, too.
Our headliner for tonight still blows the house down. I Prevail has recently released new music and it needs to be heard. “True Power” is the name of the new album, and we can see the true power of each band here tonight. What a great line-up and amazing tour to witness. Denver was lucky enough to have 2 nights of this tour, both sold-out and leaving us anxious to see these bands return to our city!
