On October 14, 2023, Grammy-winning alt-rock band Switchfoot made their way to Norfolk, Virginia on their Beautiful Letdown 20th Anniversary Tour. To celebrate the career-defining release, the band has been traveling the country playing their critically acclaimed 2003 album in its entirety, with the addition of some fan favorites.
Switchfoot opened with hard-hitter “Ammunition,” followed by “This is Your Life,” featuring frontman Jon Foreman climbing to the second story balcony, hoisted up by the crowd. Jon then took the stage again with harmonica and guitar strapped on for “More Than Fine.” The band played a few that fans were waiting for after that, including “Gone,” “The Beautiful Letdown,” and “Meant to Live.”
One of the moments fans will remember is swaying and singing in unison to one of Switchfoot’s biggest hits, “Dare You to Move.” The band took fan requests after that, making each show truly unique, and ended the set with the classic and perfect capstone to a nostalgic and memorable night, “Where I Belong.”
