Louisiana heavy-hitters Weeping Hour have made a forceful comeback with “DRONE (bright light opiates)” the band’s first single since their debut release, Hunger & Thirst. After recording the track in the beginning of 2020, the band worked hard with producer Jonathan Dolese (KonKrete Studios) and director Cory Beville to refine their chaos and put forth a stunning visual that proves their prowess.
The band has this to say about their latest release:
“This track is partly a personal struggle with the anxieties of our age, an internal reflection on how we interact with the world, and a social commentary. ‘DRONE’ has felt like it has become even more relatable after the last couple of years we have all experienced.”
Drummer and songwriter Chris Shifflett also shared his thoughts about the band’s effort on Facebook: “Creating this track pushed the band into new creative and sonic territory that I hope continues to expand and grow. I can say for myself that writing this song pushed me beyond my limits as a drummer, songwriter and composer. Every sound, rhythm, drum part, guitar riff is on purpose. Ethan [Prudhomme] is my favorite lyricist and this song will explain why.”
