San Antonio-based metalcore band Unchained (previously Thin Ice) has signed with Rottweiler Records, and the band will be bringing forward a new EP, Evangel, with the record label. Vocalist Bruce Gonzales, Jr. stated:
We have worked on it slowly but surely as Thin Ice was slowly being put to rest and we are stoked about sharing this new chapter in our musical journey with the rest of the world through a worthy outlet.
Unchained is comprised of four friends who have toured across the U.S. since 2009, first with Goldmill and then with Thin Ice (who were signed to Blood and Ink Records). The band has performed at music festivals like Stand Together, Cornerstone and Sonshine.
The inspiration behind the name “Unchained” is the mission of the band, which comes from the Apostle Paul when, in 2 Timothy 2:8-9, he wrote: “Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained.”
Unchained’s debut EP is set to release this summer.
