December 2010 year-end newsletter

On behalf of Newsboys, Rapture Ruckus, Shelley Spady, Carter Hamric, and the Global Tribe team

HAPPY NEW YEAR

As we enjoy the afterglow of Christmas and look to the coming New Year, we wanted to connect with you once more before the year ends . So as you get ready to cook that ham or turkey for New Year’s Day, bake those pies, and contemplate resolutions, please take a moment to read on.

As another year ends, and a new one begins, we wanted to wish you the best for Christmas and the year to come. Soon, we will all be gathering with our family and friends to enjoy the holidays, celebrate the birth of the Lord, and look forward to a new year.

We are also making Global Tribe plans, most especially for 2011. The work in Mexico is moving forward rapidly. We have use of a temporary location as we look for a permanent solution for an Innovation Center. On site we have a psychologist working with single mothers to assess their real needs so we can let you know. Already we know of 400 single moms and their children in that area alone, living in dire poverty.

Last month Global Tribe leaders met with Tecate,(MX) government officials including Primera dama (First Lady): Denisse Vargas and Director General (Head Director): MVZ. Luis Alonso Limon Martines and their staff. They have pledged their support and will provide land for the first Global Tribe Innovation Center. The Innovation Centers are designed to provide a small clinic, an education center, and a micro loan office.

Our friends at Conduit Missions are providing 3 computers to get things started. They will arrive in Mexico early January. Conduit works in Jocmel, Haiti with children of single mothers while the mother goes to work for 12 hours earning just $1 a day. Global Tribe is partnering with them to help single mothers there as well. By rescuing a single mother we rescue all of her children too.

We also just helped build a boys dorm at Children’s Miracle Ranch in Mexico. The Director, Cesar Uribe, is us oversee the Innovation Center there, and is an innovator himself. Cesar helps fund the orphanage through the 5,000 tree olive orchard he planted.

What I want to point out is the obvious. What you see is the collaboration of partners, each person or organization bringing their own specialty, meeting the needs of the extremely poor. Building sustainability for these dear single mothers and their precious children relies on partnerships. Like a puzzle, we each complete the picture.

Meeting with single mothers in Tecate, seeing a glimmer of hope as we talked about bringing the Innovation Center there, was an early Christmas. Now, we must deliver, bring the opportunity to escape poverty, the hope of dignity.

As the year ends, and you consider where you might want to make an impact, please consider Global Tribe.

Every donation makes the work in Tecate Mexico, Haiti and Africa possible, and provides the ability to impact and redirect the lives of poor single mothers. Your donation of $1 a day, or any size, brings much needed aid to these ladies struggling for their family with emergency relief, education in vocational and life skills, and enterprise development helping them become sustainable in their trade. Rather than welfare, which enslaves, together we provide opportunity for a future for the mothers and their children too.
