I AM ABOMINATION released their GOOD FIGHT MUSIC debut, To Our Forefathers, on May 11th, 2010, and are receiving astounding critical praise!

  • Shockhound.com describes the release as, “a complex, brutal and technically-proficient musical interplay that’s already earned the band a rabid underground cult following.”

  • Crave Magazine Online exclaims, “Blending progressive, metal and post-hardcore, the band have carved out a formidable niche for themselves, drawing fans from the three purist genres while maintaining a level of respect granted to a select few bands.”
  • Alternative Press Magazine’s online review of the album illustrates the music as, “teeming with melody and grace,” and, “some powerful shit; wild guitar licks weave in and out of the songs, wall-of-sound riffs lead into impressive breakdowns, and the vocals are polished.”

Taylor, Michigan’s I AM ABOMINATION are set to embark on their upcoming tour with Jamie’s Elsewhere and Memphis May Fire, beginning this Friday, May 21st! The band is also pleased to announce a summer run with Four Letter Lie, kicking off in La Crosse, WI on June 19th! All tour dates are available below.

Vocalist Phil Druyor is pumped about the two tours! “We’re extremely excited to appear on stage with Jamie’s Elsewhere, and we’re equally thrilled to have been invited out on the road with them! Also, we’ve wanted to tour with Memphis May Fire for a while, and we’re finally getting the chance!” Druyor is also energized to re-appear with past show-mates on I AM ABOMINATION’s second summer run. “We’ve played with Four Letter Lie before, and we love the dudes in that band! We’ve also toured with Lower Definition before they took their break, and we’re stoked that they’re back on their feet so we can tour with them again!”

HM Magazine Turns 35

In 1985, Doug Van Pelt photocopied a letter-sized sheets of paper, bound them together, and handed them out in person on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. It's all digital now, but, along the way, Van Pelt stirred up quite a few waves, played some seriously heavy music, and made a few friends along the way. Here: A quick look back at the magazine's 35-year history with Van Pelt and new owner, David Stagg.

A Disparate Vintage

On Tigerwine's latest, 'Nothing is for You,' vocalist and lyricist Trobee departs from the band's last effort as a concept record to write about an array subjects. Notably, Trobee tackles his evolution from rigid belief system to an acceptance and understanding of other ideas: "Through touring and becoming close with those very people I was taught to be afraid of, I realized how untrue it all is."

Becoming Comrades

The trio of Comrades – husband and wife Joe and Laura McElroy alongside drummer John Gaskil – is used to living in a van and touring the country. Now, their new normal has provided them with a moment to "be adults" for once. We recently sat down with the McElroys to talk more about the spiritual reality within life, how soon they'll be able to release new music, and how koalas are their new normal.
