Following their sold-out hometown show and their latest single, “Static,” UK rock force Liquid State is back with a colossal new single and music video for “Hollow Frames.” The track is the second single from the band’s self-produced, sophomore EP, Cherished, which is set to release May 6, 2022.
We spoke with vocalist Keren Ashley about the release:
“[‘Hollow frames’ is about] being blinded by the illusion of lust and allowing everything that you cherish and love to hold on by a string.”
She continues, “[It’s] about being caught up in a relationship that’s falling apart, but both parties don’t want it to fall apart. It’s about fighting through the bad times to get to the other side, even when it’s not necessarily plain sailing. It’s about how making one wrong decision can really destroy something that’s been built upon for years and how it can be so easy to fall blind to lust and allow everything else to hold on by a thread.”
Like so many bands in the wake of the pandemic, Liquid State has eagerly waited 2+ years to release their new body of work. With the release of their latest single showing off a new image and direction for Liquid State in 2022, “Hollow Frames” heightens the band’s new persona, holding nothing back.
