Today, Nashville rock trio Idle Threat released their new single, “Driftwood,” off their upcoming album, Blurred Visions. The song comes out swinging with a pushed, full-volume 6/8 groove, met with call-and-response lyrics and a myriad of vocal textures from both Zeke McKinney and Ernie Fabian, as well as special guest Cory Brandan (Norma Jean).

Weaving through both calm and storm, the song pushes and pulls until the tension finally disseminates with the final line:

From all of my hollow pleas,
The stillness, it makes a sound.
At last, I can finally see.
Wash me back upon the shore.

Idle Threat is wrapping up their first tour since the global shutdown in 2020, with friends, Meadows and Roy Sullivan. Their new record will be available everywhere next Friday, October 29, and is now available for pre-order.
