New York City’s The Things They Carried are dropping a new lyric video today for “Something Humans Crave” exclusively with HM. The art rock-meets-experimental metal band will be releasing their second EP, Melancholia, on June 23, their first release with Revival Recordings.

We spoke with vocalist Steve Schwartz about the song:

“This is probably one of, if not the most, personal songs on the record for me. It’s about dealing with one who craves love but is afraid to take that next step due to the complications that he or she currently struggles with.”

The EP was recorded at Adelaide Recording Studios in Raleigh, N.C. If you’re into the sound, you can head over to their store to grab something in support.

HM presents an oral history of the beginning of Christian metal music, featuring Guardian, Tourniquet, Holy Soldier, Whitecross, and, of course, Stryper.
