In Winds

Today, HM is proud to premiere the newest music video for In Winds’ “Uncle Jesse,” a heartfelt emo-autotune-throwback to the 2000s. The band is a one-man show from Columbus-based Daniel Amaro, and the track comes from the debut EP Everything Will Be OK, released in 2020. Think pop-punk roots meets This Wild Life, hints of Dashboard Confessional, nods to Relient K.

We spoke with Amaro about the track:

“The making of ‘Uncle Jesse’ was wild because I used friends of friends in the music video that I had never met! I really appreciate all the work everyone put forth to bring this music video to life.”

If you dig the work, you can check out the band on Spotify. In Winds is on the Manic Kat Records roster.

Heaven's Metal

When rock emerged from blues and 'heavy metal' began to surface, faith-based metal acts also rose to start their own journeys. HM presents an oral history of the beginning of Christian metal music, featuring Guardian, Tourniquet, Holy Soldier, Whitecross, and, of course, Stryper.
