Today, HM is proud to premiere hard rock band Ignescent’s metal cover of “Radio Ga Ga” by iconic rock force, Queen. Produced by Jeremy Valentyne and Brandon Wolfe (New Years Day), the reimagined track upholds the melodic integrity of the original, while transforming the arrangement into a modern metal anthem.
We spoke with the band about the inspiration behind their latest release:
“With the popularity of Spotify over radio we wanted to do a cover of ‘Radio Ga Ga’ by Queen to bring back attention to radio. Queen is a legendary band that we all admire and draw inspiration from. It was fun to add a metal twist to such an iconic song.”
Hailing from Chicago, IL, Ignescent has been blowing fans away since 2018, with their latest single, “Remnant,” hitting #46 on Billboard Rock Charts and #6 on Christian Rock Charts. As songwriters, they draw from their struggles with anxiety and depression to put a message of hope in their lyrics encouraging their listeners to know they are not alone.
The band’s cover of “Radio Ga Ga” will be available everywhere tomorrow, January 19. If you’d like to hear more, catch Ignescent on tour this spring and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
