Heaven’s Metal (HM) Magazine Editor Doug Van Pelt announces Volume Three of the Rock Stars on God series. This popular series stems from the hundreds of interviews Van Pelt has done with mainstream artists over the years. “It was by far the most popular feature in HM Magazine,” said Van Pelt.

“It was the first feature people turned to when a new issue arrived. The reason why is that they are so entertaining.”

When’s the last time you heard a journalist ask Henry Rollins, Green Day, Chris Cornell, or Ronnie James Dio the question, “What do you think of Jesus Christ?” And this question followed up by, “What do you think of His claims to be ‘the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Me?’” These are the staples or centerpieces of all of these interviews, and they are not questions rock stars expect to be asked in a standard interview while they are doing press for their new album. Van Pelt documents their answers and the results are surprising, deep, endearing, and often tense.

Rock Stars on God, Volume Three features interviews with Black Sabbath, Foreigner, Kansas, Styx, Scorpions, Def Leppard, Anthrax, Cinderella, Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (including 10 extra pages of a never-before-published interview with TSO founder Paul O’Neill), Queensryche, Slayer, Living Colour, Dangerous Toys, Yngwie Malmsteen, Great White, Dream Theater, Sepultura, Prong, Brother Cane, Korn, Machine Head, Fear Factory, and Creed / Alter Bridge.

Rock Stars on God, Volume One, which featured Metallica, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Sammy Hagar, was published by Relevant Books in 2004. Rock Stars on God, Volume Two featured Collective Soul, Type O Negative, Judas Priest, Dio, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, Soundgarden/Audioslave was published by HM Press in 2012.

Van Pelt launched a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign for Volume Three in September, which wraps up on October 9. If you’d like to support, check out the campaign.
