Even though it was a Tuesday night, that did not stop 4,000 people from heading out to see pop-punk infamy with All Time Low.
The Mission Ballroom opened its doors at 7 p.m., and the venue proved to be sold out before the first band, Grayscale, took the stage at 7:30 p.m. When the lights went out and the intro music began, the scene erupted; no doubt, there was a fervor to see live music again mixed in with the screams for all the bands we love.
Fans wasted no time crowd surfing their way to the stage, the security guys also back in full swing catching the in-flight punk rockers. As an opening band should do, the warm-up was the perfect way to bring the water to a boil for The Maine. Their set was bright and colorful, the band proudly dancing and grooving their way around the stage, encouraging the crowd to do the same. The crowd continued to scream, dance, crowd surf, and even mosh a little through some of The Maine’s heavier songs.
All Time Low headlined the show with an impressive, bright, and put-together setlist. Their stage lighting took the show to the next level with its programmed vibe churning right alongside the singing — sometimes the crowd louder than its stage counterpart. The feel-good, back-to-live-music feeling swept the crowd throughout the evening, and All Time Low embodied the punk ethos that allowed the audience to forget anything that was happening outside the venue.
The band has a lot more shows scheduled on the tour, and as bands return to the stage, remember that they make most of their money through touring. If you feel comfortable enough to attend, the bands would welcome the comeback.
