Today DMX, Austin-based leading provider of licensed music in commercial environments, announces a partnership with SXSW featuring a multi-channel online music service SXSWfm…powered by DMX.

During the Music Conference, the SXSWfm team will be conducting interviews with artists and registrants on the 4th Floor of the Austin Convention Center just outside of Artist Central and the Artists’ Lounge (Ballrooms E/F.).  For more information go to www.sxsw.com/fm.
Fans can enjoy “The Sound of SXSW,” music from hundreds of 2012 Showcasing Artists spread over four Channels:

  • Chris Harrison, COO of DMX, is moderating the SXSW Interactive Panel, “Tech + The Evolution of the In-Store Experience” this Sunday, March 11
  • DMX & Pandora are hosting a Q&A press event featuring their newest service Pandora for Business on Tuesday, March 13 with Pandora Founder Tim Westergren, and Chris Harrison available for questions.
  • Showcase with Pandora after the press event on Tuesday, March 13 with live performances by Austin Brown (LA-based musician and nephew of the late Michael Jackson), The Stepkids (American psychedelic soul voted as one of the Best R&B albums of 2011 by Spin Magazine) and NNeka (soul/hiphop singer songwriter from Nigeria). Enjoy free drinks, mobile contests and live screen printing.
  • Barry Knittel Lounge Celebration at the Mean Eyed Cat from 2:30 to 4:30 on Thursday, March 15, featuring Big Harp and Emil & Friends

BARRY KNITTEL LOUNGE DEDICATION CELEBRATION

In loving memory of Barry Knittel, the priceless contributions he made to DMX and the countless lives he touched over the course of his life, DMX is dedicating a space in our Austin headquarters in Barry’s honor (the Barry Knittel Lounge) to celebrate Barry’s life and legacy.  The Barry Knittel Lounge will provide a place for friends, new and old, to gather and share two of Barry’s joys: good conversation and great music.  DMX will host a party after the dedication at the Mean Eyed Cat with live performances by Emil & Friends and Big Harp.
