In 2009, August Burns Red covered Britney Spears’ 90’s hit, “Baby One More Time” for Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 2. Five years and four Punk Goes Pop compilations later, the gang now takes on Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” for Vol. 6 of the series. The song is available for purchase on iTunes. While you’re at it, be sure to check out We Came As Romans‘ cover of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” on the same album.

We’re hoping to hear Ms. Cyrus return the favor by covering August Burns Red’s “Marianas Trench” on her next album.

Here: A quick look back at the magazine's 35-year history with Van Pelt and new owner, David Stagg.

Becoming Comrades

The trio of Comrades – husband and wife Joe and Laura McElroy alongside drummer John Gaskil – is used to living in a van and touring the country. Now, their new normal has provided them with a moment to "be adults" for once. We recently sat down with the McElroys to talk more about the spiritual reality within life, how soon they'll be able to release new music, and how koalas are their new normal.
