Confirming their lineup, Epicenter has announced Metallica as the major headliner for two nights at the festival, scheduled for May 1-3. The band will headline Friday, May 1 and Sunday, May 3 performing two different headlining sets. Disturbed will headling the Saturday slot.
Danny Wimmer, the eponymous leader of the largest independent festival producer in the U.S., spoke about Metallica’s appearances this year on the company’s festival circuit.
“Metallica isn’t just another headliner. When Metallica takes the stage, it’s an event. It’s an experience. Metallica paved this road that we travel. How many artists on the bill at these five festivals first picked up an instrument or first started a band because of Metallica?”
The festival will move to its new home in the Charlotte Motor Speedway this year, located in Concord, NC. Filling out the lineup is pretty much any rock band you’d want to see at least once:

- David Lee Roth
- Ice Nine Kills
- Lynyrd Skynyrd
- Staind
- Chevelle
- Cypress Hill
- Deftones
- Volbeat
- Gojira
- Rancid
