Glasslands - 2026

Glasslands continues to build momentum with another new single, “Blood In The Water,” as Josh Kincheloe carves out a self-defined sound in the alternative space.

On “Blood In The Water,” Josh Kincheloe pushes Glasslands further into industrial leanings, dialing into an era that’s more instinct-driven. It’s not immediate or explosive. It simmers. There’s a lingering pulse running through the track with an understated sensuality, giving the song a quiet intensity before it ever fully opens up. Arriving as the follow-up to the recently released “Bottom Feeder,” the single continues to map out a new chapter for Glasslands with Kincheloe steering the project on his own terms while continuing to emerge as one of the more compelling rising names in alternative.

The song opens with a pulsing Nine Inch Nails style industrial beat like it’s building toward something but deliberately holding back. When the guitars hit, it finally releases some of that pressure, but not all of it. The whole track kind of plays like that with pushing right up to the edge, then pulling away. Then it finally breaks. The bridge leans heavier into metalcore, opening everything up into a full release that feels like the song’s real point of arrival. Kincheloe leans into restraint here. That push-and-pull gives the song its edge; something closer to the slow-burn of Nine Inch Nails than the blunt force typically associated with metalcore. You catch flashes of that hazy, moody blend Deftones are known for with weightless moments drifting right into thick waves of guitar.

There are also subtle callbacks woven into the track that echo the atmospheric palette of Glasslands’ debut and the “Pariah” era. Those elements show up here in an intentional nod, tying everything together without feeling like a throwback.

Lyrically, “Blood In The Water” reads like it’s circling themes of betrayal and exposure with the kind of realization where trust fractures and intentions start to feel unclear. There’s a suggestion of something more predatory underneath it all. It never fully spells it out, but it doesn’t need to.

“Blood In The Water” follows a string of releases that have steadily positioned Glasslands as one of the more intriguing independent names operating between alternative and metalcore. With this latest track, Kincheloe doubles down on atmosphere and authenticity, while maintaining the edge that has become synonymous with Glasslands growing presence in the alternative scene.

“Blood In The Water” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
