HM PREMIERE: Wickeds End streams new single, ‘Breath of the Prophet’

Wickeds End is an old-school band now reborn, formed in 1992 playing their style of death and thrash metal out of Lake Elsinore, CA, a couple hours southeast of Los Angeles. They previously broke up, but a reformed version of the band came together in 2015, and HM is proud to premiere the first single, “Breath of the Prophet,” from the band’s newest LP, Reformation.

The single, taken from the story of Jonah and his work in Ninevah, is about his work as a prophet sent to the town to warn them. We spoke with the vocalist of the new incarnation of the band, John Dixon, about the story behind the song.

“The prophet faces severe opposition from the people he’s ministering to, opposition to the point of death. Through his selflessness and his words, someone’s heart was touched and that person came to believe, repented, and took on what the prophet was doing. This new minister then convinced his people to believe, and then they were then saved from their eternal damnation after repenting.”

The band’s newest album, Reformation, is available now through SkyBurnsBlack Records.
