Today, HM is proud to premiere the latest music video for “Built for War” by Becoming Saints. The band, signed to Rottweiler Records, will release their debut full-length album, Oh, the Suffering, on Oct. 21. Vocalist Drew Garrison told us “the video for ‘Built for War’ captures the ferocity of the lyrics in visual form.” The upcoming album was produced by Simon Pettiford at Darkened Dreams Studios (Smoke Signals, Descended from Wolves, In Trenches). “I’m truly happy we finally get to come together as a band and create the type of music we create and share it,” Garrison added.
We also spoke with bassist Jeff Bowie about the music video:
“We shot this in an old general store that was built in the 1800s. It was boiling hot in there during the shoot. I think the director planned it that way so he could make us look more aggressive.”
Guitarist and vocalist Kory Olson added, “It was filmed in the dog days of summer in the South in an old, abandoned building with no electricity. It was a long, hot day — and I didn’t want to leave.”
The band formed in 2005, but reunited after a lengthy hiatus to form its current lineup in 2013. Soon after, they released the EP, Let This Not Be the End of Me, a punishingly heavy work that touched on social issues.
