New Prids videos are coming, very soon.  If you missed the 2nd one it’s here.
We have not 1, but 2 new bands that we’ll be adding to the family.  We’ll be announcing one of them on Tues. !

2. new releases ……..

all available at www.velvetbluemusic.com or  Itunes.

BIRDS & BATTERIES ‘panorama’ cd / lp  –   B&B is hard to describe, folk-ish, but then there’s a lot of electronics, and guitar licks. “Twangy guitars strums and subtle synth sounds — a perfect fit for a band that constantly pairs the lovably old with the strikingly new.” – San Francisco Weekly

THE PRIDS ‘chronosynclastic’ cd / lp –  Anyone not love this band ?  The 12″ is on red vinyl w/ download card.  And you know Doug from Built to Spill does some guitars and vocals on it right ?  This is fuzzed out pop, maybe a bit on the dark side.  Go here to get more info on them.

DOUG BURR ‘o ye devastator’ cd / lp – Ok, how many more great records can we put out ?  Mr. Burr plays straight from the heart songs.  “Burr shares an intrinsic knowledge of song dynamics with the likes of Jeff Tweedy, and has a voice that tugs at the heart strings. Brilliant! ” – Americana UK    “Exquisitely detailed, slow and deliberate” – Paste

THE LANGLEY SISTERS ‘queen bee’ 7″ – Limited ed., on white vinyl, w/ download card.  3 lovely ladies from London who craft music that could be from 1940, really nothing short of amazing. Did we mention it was produced by Ed Harcourt ?

3. new in distro ………..

all available at www.velvetbluemusic.com

BOSQUE BROWN ‘baby’  cd / lp. –  The lp comes w/ a bonus 7″ inside too !  Coming from Texas they have that desolate kind of sound, minimal and with beautiful vocals from Mrs. Maura.

ME WITHOUT YOU  ‘it’s all crazy’ lp. – This thing is way nice ! Double lp in gatefold. You already know the band right ?

HM covers from over the years

HM Magazine Turns 35

In 1985, Doug Van Pelt photocopied a letter-sized sheets of paper, bound them together, and handed them out in person on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. It's all digital now, but, along the way, Van Pelt stirred up quite a few waves, played some seriously heavy music, and made a few friends along the way. Here: A quick look back at the magazine's 35-year history with Van Pelt and new owner, David Stagg.

My Epic performing their last final show before COVID-19

Between the White Noise

My Epic's last full-length album came out in 2013; despite a number of EPs along the way, the band's dedication to their craft, lyrical approach, and unyielding approach to let the music come naturally has made them critical darlings. Now, they're learning to interact and feed a rabid fanbase in between albums and in a new normal.
