Alternative Press have premiered the new Serianna song “Lose Yourself”!  The song, originally by Eminem, is available for streaming at and for download at iTunes, Amazon, and everywhere else music is available. The guys are really excited about the song and what it means to them as a band, and are playing it LIVE now on tour with The Great Commission and We Are Defiance! All tour dates below.

Guitarist and songwriter Kris Meyer-Ruef checked in to say, “Lose Yourself has become a hip hop classic and has cemented itself as a timeless hit. It presented a challenge for us in two ways, 1. Making sure we stay true to the classic but, 2. Finding a way to put an innovative twist on it and keep it metal! The lyrics are simple, powerful and applicable to all genres of music, or even life in general. Go for your dreams, lose yourself in them, but realize they come true through dedication and perseverance.”

Singer and lyricist Chris Nutting also said, “We were really excited to take such an iconic song from our youth and make it our own, especially with the challenge of changing a rap song to a metal song. Lyrically, the song relates to us in a sense that we are also struggling to get by and make it in the music world. All in all we had a blast in the studio and hope our fans will love our interpretation of the song as much as we do”.

Serianna just released their brand new music video for “Virtues” of their debut album “Inheritors”, released last summer on Bullet Tooth. The video was filmed and directed by Sam Link (Sleeping With Sirens, Decoder) on the recent Motel 6 “Rock Yourself To Sleep” Tour and can be seen now on YouTube.

The debut album “Inheritors” from Serianna (Madison, WI) is available everywhere NOW!  Fans can listen to the songs “Fragments” and “Guilty Spark” at their Facebook page, and watch a full length video promo of the title track “Inheritors” at YouTube.  Their songs “Fragments” and “Inheritors” are also available NOW on Rock Band for Xbox 360.  The band has recently been on tour with Alesana, A Skylit Drive, Sleeping With Sirens, Affiance, Memphis May Fire, Attila, and more!

HM covers from over the years

HM Magazine Turns 35

In 1985, Doug Van Pelt photocopied a letter-sized sheets of paper, bound them together, and handed them out in person on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. It's all digital now, but, along the way, Van Pelt stirred up quite a few waves, played some seriously heavy music, and made a few friends along the way. Here: A quick look back at the magazine's 35-year history with Van Pelt and new owner, David Stagg.

Becoming Comrades

The trio of Comrades – husband and wife Joe and Laura McElroy alongside drummer John Gaskil – is used to living in a van and touring the country. Now, their new normal has provided them with a moment to "be adults" for once. We recently sat down with the McElroys to talk more about the spiritual reality within life, how soon they'll be able to release new music, and how koalas are their new normal.

My Epic performing their last final show before COVID-19

Between the White Noise

My Epic's last full-length album came out in 2013; despite a number of EPs along the way, the band's dedication to their craft, lyrical approach, and unyielding approach to let the music come naturally has made them critical darlings. Now, they're learning to interact and feed a rabid fanbase in between albums and in a new normal.
