Seabird is partnering with the charitable organization, Mocha Club, for their upcoming “Over the Hills and Everywhere Tour” with Ben Rector. The tour will launch in early Dec. and wrap towards the middle of the month, a complete tour schedule is listed below.

Mocha Club is about connecting your community with their community in Africa by giving up $7 a month, the cost of 2 mochas. Specifically, Seabird’s partnership will assist in the education efforts of the Mocha Club established in schools in Africa such as Emmanuel Vo-Tech School in Kenya, Learn to Earn in South Africa, Creche Preschools in Capetown, South Africa and more.

“My wife and I have been Mocha Club members for almost a year, and we’ve been blown away by their undeniable impact on the people of Africa,” explains Aaron Morgan of Seabird. “Ryan and I took our first trip to Africa when we were just teenagers and were deeply impacted by the genuine love and compassion we saw in the people even in the midst of such intense poverty. They are thankful when there is little to be thankful for. And they find joy when joy would seem to have left town. Their heritage is a rich one and they embrace it as if it were a precious gift. We mean it when we say we’re honored to partner with Mocha Club to make education a reality for African kids who deserve a chance.” For more information about Seabird’s work with Mocha Club, visit https://www.mochaclub.org/sponsor/seabird.

On the tour, the band will be performing songs from their new holiday EP of the same name. Songs included on the direct to digital retailers EP include “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Go Tell It On the Mountain,” “What Child Is This?” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night. Joining Seabird will be piano-pop solo artist Ben Rector.  He will be promoting his most recent release Into the Morning, featuring the single “When A Heart Breaks.” Rector will also be playing songs off of his own Christmas EP, Jingles and Bells.

Cincinnati-based Seabird comprises brothers Aaron and Ryan Morgan as well as Scott Hundley and Steven Bye. The band signed with Credential Recordings in late 2007 and released its debut label project, ‘Til We See The Shore, June 24, 2008. A collaborative effort with producers Jacquire King (Modest Mouse, Kings Of Leon, Tom Waits, Switchfoot) and Allen Salmon (Mute Math, This Beautiful Republic), the album received phenomenal national publicity, featured on episodes of “Numb3rs,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and promos for ABC’s 12-time Emmy-nominated series, “Pushing Daisies.” Their latest, Rocks Into Rivers, was produced by Paul Moak at the Smoakstack in Nashville, and Matt Hales at Ocean Studios in Los Angeles. Tunes from Seabird’s latest recording also garnered pick up from NBC’s “Losing it With Jillian,” and a music video premiere on Seventeen Magazine online. The band was also recognized by its hometown as “Artist of the Year” at the 2008 Cincinnati Entertainment. For more information on Seabird, visit: www.seabirdmusic.com or www.myspace.com/seabird.
