Flatfoot 56 News
In what has been an unprecedented year for FLATFOOT 56, the Southside Chicago band’s 10th year anniversary has been marked by well-deserved milestones, all resulting from the strength of their sincere live show and critically-lauded Old Shoe Records debut, BLACK THORN. Produced by Johnny Rioux (STREET DOGS) and released in March 2010, BLACK THORN debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart, in addition to healthy positions on eight other charts in its first week. True to the band’s hard-earned reputation of remaining devoted to the road, FLATFOOT 56 has spent the better part of 2010 on tour in support of BLACK THORN. Mainstage appearances at festivals both home and abroad, a successful run on the 2010 Vans Warped Tour, and now the launch of their fall US club tour alongside Street Dogs. Flatfoot 56 arrives in San Antonio on Tuesday, September 7 at White Rabbit. Doors for the all ages show open at 7PM. Tickets are on sale now. While FLATFOOT 56 continues to cement their place within the hierarchy of the punk rock genre, the band’s broad appeal and universally inspiring themes have managed to resonate with people outside of the punk rock scope just the same. Producers of the FX Network hit Sons of Anarchy have tapped the band for music to use in their new season, while WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) had Flatfoot record an all-new entrance theme for their current champion Sheamus. Never having to compromise their artistic integrity, FLATFOOT 56 manages to appeal to more than just the punks.

House Of Heroes Give Away New Track
Gotee Records band House Of Heroes released their latest effort, SUBURBA on August 3, produced by Mark Lee Townsend (Relient K, Deas Vail) and mixed by J.R. McNeely(The Almost, Paramore). Go to freehoh.com, where you will be able to post a tweet about HOH in exchange for a free download of the track “Independence Day For A Petty Thief”. AJ and I went to the 4th of July fireworks in the ritzy part of town 2 years ago” states lead singer Tim Skipper. “We had parked in a neighborhood nearby and had to walk a bit. All of the houses were deserted and the garage doors were open and it was just very bizarre. AJ looked at us and said, “This would be heaven for some punk kids looking to rob these people.” A week and a few sweet riffs later, we had a song about that very thing. We’re always trying to think of interesting subject matter to write about, and I think this song really stands out. Plus, it’s about as balls out rock n’ roll as anything we’ve ever done!” SUBURBA is an album like nothing else you will hear today. And for that fact alone, it is a victory of epic proportions. Endlessly poppy, galactically ambitious, and dripping with honest, candid emotion, this is what a rock record is supposed to sound like. This is what a rock record is supposed to feel like.

Soulspell Metal Opera To Be Released
Soulspell Metal Opera is a Brazilian Heavy Metal project conceived by drummer Heleno Vale. Many singers play different characters in a story concerning the conflicts among human emotions in a way never broached before. These characters face situations of internal conflict as they are requested for making decisions which, without their knowledge, affect and change the course of the present, future, and even past of all the other characters. Although the story takes place in the present, many historic events are also tangled in it. Soulspell story intends to make us wonder how a fifteen-year-old boy, a powerful evil dragon, or even a simple humble lumberjack, by simply living and believing, can interfere in the lives of all in every possible dimension. After a successful reception, the project gained assistance from great world-wide names like Roland Grapow (ex. Helloween, Masterplan), Zak Stevens and Jon Oliva (ex. Savatage), Blaze Bayley (ex. Iron Maiden), Tim Ripper Owens (ex. Judas Priest, ex. Iced Earth) and some great Brazilian names like Edu Falaschi (Angra) and Nando Fernandes (Hangar). ”The Labyrinth of Truths” proves that Brazil got lots of talent, and the spirit of the project is something special for sure! Familiar voices like Jon Oliva and Zak Stevens mixed with exciting vocalists like Germán Pascual and Leandro Caçoilo creates a great diversity, and the term ”Metal Opera” surely fits the album! The album features special guests as Jon Oliva [Jon Oliva’s Pain, ex. Savatage], Roland Grapow [Masterplan, ex. Helloween], Zak Stevens [Circle II Circle, ex. Savatage] and Germán Pascual [ex. Narnia].
