Skillet Goes Gold
In a fast and furious 10 months, AWAKE, the latest album from Atlantic recording group SKILLET, has been certified gold by the RIAA for sales in excess of 500,000. The album – which includes two Active Rock radio blockbusters in the top 5 hit, “Monster”, and the top 12 smash, “Hero” – continues to reign as a hard rock favorite, standing strong in the upper half of the Billboard 200. The band is also set to release their next single and video for “Awake & Alive” in the coming weeks. Produced by Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Daughtry, Flyleaf), Awake reached the #1 spot on the iTunes Store’s “Top Albums” chart within 24 hours of its release last August. The album also made a blockbuster debut on the SoundScan/Billboard 200, entering the chart at #2. Skillet’s headline tours ranked with Pollstar’s Concert Pulse Top 50 Tours and recently landed the band on the cover of the magazine. In addition, the band has shared stages with such like-minded acts as Flyleaf, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Seether, and Puddle of Mudd. “Hero,” the stirring second single from Awake, has received an array of high-profile placements, including THQ’s WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 video game. Various tracks from Awake have received major TV placements including NBC Sunday Night Football, NBC’s “The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania” and MTV’s “Bully Beatdown.” In addition to cumulative album sales now approaching 2 million, Skillet has racked up a wide range of honors throughout their extraordinary career, including multiple Grammy nominations and two BMI Music Award wins for “The Last Night” and “The Older I Get,” both featured on the gold certified COMATOSE. Skillet have also announced plans to join forces and destroy crowds across the US with their Monsters of Annihilation tour with Papa Roach, beginning October 1st in Myrtle Beach, SC at The House of Blues. “We’ve become good friends with Skillet over the past couple years and are excited to jump on the road with them. Having both Papa Roach and Skillet together on one stage, you best believe we’re going to burn it down!!! Get ready for total stage annihilation,” says Papa Roach front man Jacoby Shaddix.

Fans will have to “Like” Ivoryline on Facebook in order to gain access to the video, which was filmed on location in Galveston, TX at Crystal Beach and downtown Austin by director Van Blumreich. “In it I play a semi-crazy inventor who is obsessed with birds and flying. For some reason, he thinks that becoming like a bird is the answer to his search for meaning,” says vocalist Jeremy Gray. “Obviously, that’s not the case, and when his dream of flying comes to a tragic end, he barely escapes with his life. His near death experience is enough to jolt him out from his delusion and as the video ends, he knows he has a second chance at a real life.” The song is off the band’s new album VESSELS which is available in stores and online now and can be downloaded at iTunes and Amazon MP3.

Anberlin Gets Caffeinated Tour Support
The band Anberlin (Universal Republic) has welcomed Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee onto their 5-week Fall 2010 US tour, in an initiative to raise money for orphan homes in coffee farming communities in Haiti and Rwanda. Stephen Christian, singer of Anberlin and founder of Faceless International explained why he has extended the invite to Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee: “For me Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee is the ideal, not only do they produce some of the best coffee but the logic behind the organization is solid and uplifting. Sustainable living for small communities is the future for developing impoverished countries around the world, and a sound way to fight human trafficking, a cause that is near to my heart. I will continue to support 1000 Hills in my personal life by buying their coffee and remain a strong supporter of the cause throughout my professional career as a musician.” The Drink Coffee. Do Good. tour team will travel 15,000 miles in just under 45 days this fall, hitting 33 major cities in both the US and Canada. “It is our goal with the tour to raise enough funds to build-out at least 10 homes for orphans in Bukonya, Rwanda, as well as to fund the construction of a clean water coffee washing station in Haiti,” explains Danny Nicoletto, tour manager for Land of a Thousand Hills. “Haiti has the climate to produce some excellent coffee, but there are several care needs that need to be met since the earthquake. The time is now to be involved there. We are really grateful to be a part of this tour and look forward to telling our story to Anberlin’s audience.” Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee will be raising funds for this project through mobile giving. By TXTing “GOOD” to 50555, a donation of $5 is made to the Do Good Initiative. As a thank you from Thousand Hills and Stephen Christian, once the donation is made, a link is sent with a free download of “Summer Tongues” by Anchor & Braille (side project of Stephen of Anberlin). The tour will feature opening bands Civil Twilight and The Crash Kings and will promote Anberlin’s new release “Dark is the Way, Light is a Place” out now on Universal Republic. Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee is looking forward to keeping everyone well caffeinated and hope to change lives in Rwanda and Haiti. DRINK COFFEE. DO GOOD.

August Burns Red Live Album Out Now
Home – ABR’s first live recording – captures the band playing a wildly energetic and ferocious show to a sold-out crowd of 1250+ in the band’s hometown of Manheim, PA. The powerful, pummeling performance featured many fan favorites from the band’s three full-length albums, Constellations, 2007’s Messengers and 2005’s Thrillseeker, meaning that Home will appeal to both new and longtime ABR fans. Shot and edited by Space Monkey Studios (COHEED AND CAMBRIA, LAMB OF GOD, EVERY TIME I DIE), the DVD also includes a documentary on the band detailing life on the road and at home and featuring fans discussing the ways in which AUGUST BURNS RED have impacted their lives in a positive, meaningful way. The recording of Home was yet another highlight for a band that had spent the previous year touring everywhere but “Home,” including 5 continents, from Dubai to Australia, Japan to South America, in addition to crisscrossing Europe and North America with everyone from LAMB OF GOD to A DAY TO REMEMBER. The critical success of Constellations, the band’s 3rd album, has helped AUGUST BURNS RED not only become one of the forerunners in the current metal scene, but also break out and reach newer fanbases. Constellations has sold nearly 85,000 copies and has been lauded by taste-making publications such as Revolver, AP, Outburn and more, further solidifying ABR’s stature. Following the AP Fall Tour, the band will cap off an epic 2010 with a trek across Australia and New Zealand alongside legendary artists MEGADETH, NOFX, THE DESCENDENTS, DROPKICK MURPHYS and more as part of the No Sleep Til festival tour.

Check Out Where the Ocean Meets the Sky
With only a few weeks remaining until the release of their new album, Empires, WHERE THE OCEAN MEETS THE SKY are premiering a brand-new track – ‘The Mettle of a Man’ – exclusively at Noisecreep. ‘The Mettle of a Man’ is the second track the band has released in advance of their forthcoming debut, Empires, which is set to drop in stores and online everywhere October 12th from CI Records, the label that helped launch the careers of genre-related acts like AUGUST BURNS RED and TEXAS IN JULY. The musically adventurous NJ six-piece prominently display their three-guitar attack on ‘Mettle,’ which also showcases the band’s pummeling rhythms, soaring melodies and electronic flourishes. “This is actually one of the oldest songs on the record,” explains vocalist Blake Martin. “We had been playing the earliest incarnations of it live for about 6 months prior to hitting the studio. ‘Mettle’ is definitely us at some of our catchier moments and it’s always been a fan favorite live. Personally, I’ve always loved it because of the pacing.“ The band is also excited to announce two CD release shows, Oct 22 in Lemoyne, PA and Oct 23 in Vineland, NJ. Everyone in attendance will receive a free copy of Empires courtesy of WHERE THE OCEAN MEETS THE SKY and CI Records. Empires is a sensationally strong debut from a band that refuses to have their music fit snugly in a single tiny box. Tempering full-throttle heaviness with driving melody and haunting atmospherics, it’s the sound of an album which is just as smart as it is heavy – an unfortunately rare combination in today’s current alt music scene. Leading up to the release of Empires, WHERE THE OCEAN MEETS THE SKY will join TEXAS IN JULY (Equal Vision) and THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE (Good Fight) on the road.

Future Of Forestry To Release Christmas EP
ADVENT CHRISTMAS, VOLUME 2, by Future of Forestry, is set to release to digital outlets November 2, 2010 and in select stores nationwide. The EP will feature 6 songs, including 4 traditional holiday classics, one original song, and an instrumental interlude. “The Advent series started as a side project, but after hearing the first EP and touring on the project, it was evident that this music was becoming an important part of the band,” explains Eric Owyoung, the driving force behind Future of Forestry. “When we started hearing a similar response from our friends and fans, we couldn’t wait to get in the studio and continue the series.” This project is in a very similar style Future of Forestry fans are familiar with: epic in sound, using a wide pallet of instrumentation, while managing to keep a sentimental feel that honors the season it celebrates. “We really wanted these two Christmas albums to be cohesive, so you can listen to the EPs together and have it seem like one experience,” continues Owyoung. Much like the other Future of Forestry projects, the make up of the band is more about the music, than the band itself. Owyoung enlisted a community of musicians to play on the project, including longtime bandmate TJ Hill, cellist Elizabeth Lee, and vocalist Olga Yagolnikov from the band Paper Rings. Future of Forestry Christmas tour dates to be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Track Listing:
Joy to the World
Do You Hear What I Hear
The Earth Stood Still
Angels We Have Heard On High
