Today, HM is proud to premiere Wiltwither’s latest music video for “Black Summer,” brought to life by an ominous atmosphere, charging rhythms, groovy sections, stomping riffs, crunchy production, and a slow and primitive final breakdown featuring Kareem France (Loathe).

Over the course of the pandemic through 2020 into 2021, the band dug deep and further cultivated their sound and stories, inviting fans along as they continue to reinvent themselves with their next release. “Black Summer” speaks on the prolonged feeling of being out of place with the world and oneself and speaks on a fear that everyone experienced through the COVID-19 season; will this ever go away?

We spoke to the band about the song:

“It’s the heavier side of the band with lyrical concepts about being caught in the spiraling downfall of feeling out of place.”

Since their inception in 2018 and the release of their debut EP, The House I Lived and Died In, the Southeast metalcore group has made it their mission to create a community based on love and personal experiences.

“Black Summer” will be available everywhere tomorrow, September 17. If you like what you hear, follow Wiltwither on Facebook and Instagram.
