Today, HM is proud to premiere a brand new remix of Major Moment’s 2020 single, “The Flood.” Following the release of the song’s music video (above), Major Moment teamed up with Hoss Haus, an electronic trance/house crossover project founded by Paul “Paulie Hoss” Draicchio, to reimagine their most popular single to date.
The remix will be featured on the band’s upcoming EP, The Flood: Remixed & Reimagined, featuring an array of producers from LA to Berlin, New York to Russia. Spearheaded by two Russian-born vocalists, Major Moment has developed an intense and diverse cinematic rock soundscape that integrates heavy guitar riffs, multi-layered synths, and melodic vocals — all with an international essence that has rocked the Boston music scene since their formation in 2018.
We spoke with vocalist and synth player Audrey Borzykin about the remixed track:
“Earlier this year I saw Paul’s post on social media, it was about starting a new project in the EDM direction, which was definitely surprising to me, I’ve only seen his heavy 7-string side before. Me & Sasha were just thinking about what we were going to do with Major Moment’s upcoming release: we already had a couple remixes done by our friends, but it felt like we could take it even further, from what was originally planned as a single / EP release to a full remix album. I reached out to Paul, and he was happy to add his spin to ‘The Flood.’ It felt great to have a fellow metalhead be a part of our (slightly crazy) remix party.”
Draicchio, a former metal guitarist, also weighed in on the collaboration: “I fell in love with Major Moment’s music while working on their light show. When the opportunity was presented to collaborate on a song I could not pass on the chance!”
